好友從外地返嚟，話想食啲懷舊港式茶記嘢，所以就揀咗去「美都」。星期六中午12點半去到，冇咩客人，地下唔開要上二樓。
兩個人叫咗個焗豬扒飯、錦鹵雲吞、紅豆冰、一杯凍奶茶加一杯熱奶茶！焗豬扒飯個汁係以前快餐店橙色嗰種，好有以前返學去食lunch個Feel? 錦鹵雲吞炸得好香脆，同個甜酸汁味道好夾，同埋個甜酸汁都好多料，有豬肉、豬膶、番茄、紅椒同五柳菜……
二樓落單嗰位阿叔個樣係cool啲，講嘢係掘啲，但又未至於好惡鬧人嘅。但如果你想要優質嘅顧客服務就未必啱你喇?
見佢有八達通機，不過收錢?阿姐話佢哋唔收八達通只收現金。埋單盛惠$249，抵食就講唔上㗎喇?
Old restaurant, old decoration
一點一滴的情懷。吃著飯，看著四周很有味道的景物。
As a licensed tour guide, we taken a few guests to see this retro restaurant. While the decor was the main draw, the food were ok and they have a good variety. Prices are expensive and services is so so. Always rushing to get us to leave. They are listed open until 9:45pm but many many times, they close the door before 8pm. Maybe they don’t need business. It’ll be a miss from now on… skip this place and have a feast anywhere down Temple Street for less and get more! Admire the architect outside… free!
Good for the nostalgia, but food was nothing to write home about and the portions are quite small.
The service is good with polite and concern. Will remind you the drink is hot. The location is easy to access. This is a famous spot for movie taking. The design is unique with traditional style. The seating is comfortable. The food is up to price performance.
Horrible! Try to avoid. No interest.
Dirty. The most unfriendly staff u can meet in hong kong (they almost opened my wallet to take the money!!). DO NOT GO.
食品一般環境衛生都一般，食嘅係老餐室情懷，但裏面個個打卡，都冇乜感覺了，唯有望下外邊的轉角樓的舊建築特色好過。
緬懷”舊”味道佳選之處。讚
作為菠蘿包 Fans，呢間係我食過最難食菠蘿包嘅餐廳，皮唔脆，包身凍，口感差，其他嘢食貴仲要唔好食。
幾十年歷史，除咗租場俾人拍戲外並冇可取之處。
食物哋味道（-5分），環境（6分），職員服務態度 （-10分），外面影相可以，再幫襯就肯定唔會。

A taste of classic Hong Kong. Midi Cafe is nothing to rave about for food originality, but its standard fare is on par with other local cafes. The neon sign outside is iconic and beautiful. You may have seen this cafe if you watched the Amazon Prime show “White Dragon.” Worth a visit!
This is where you go if you want to experience nostalgia for a side of Hong Kong that is fast disappearing. It’s a well maintained old cafe that has the look and feel of Hong Kong in the 60s. I can almost imagine my parents sitting on the seats drinking tea and eating the “Western” style food on offer. Sadly, the food itself is nothing special, though it seems to be the same style which would have been offered in it’s heyday.
Worth visiting once. Stick to the basic Hong Kong Cafe (Cha Chaa Teng) food that you know of like sandwiches, teas, and baked dishes.

The MiDo Cafe is an old style HK coffee shop with 70 year of history. I took a set lunch of 55 dollars. It included a fried rice of salty fish and chicken meats, a glass of ice milk tea and a bowl of soup. Food is fairly okay while the soup was a bit salty. I could only salvaged few corn kernels. The fried rice was okay and strange red color, of which it was coming from beetroot. In terms of the price, I would say the it was a set lunch that could fill up you stomach.
An absolute joy to be sitting in this cafe. Retro feel and the food is yum. The owners are very friendly and we did have a good chat. Reasonably priced food. We loved the atmosphere. We did not know they are going to close soon, and when we discovered this via Reading the website, the waiter was very friendly and say pls do not rush. Enjoy your dinner. What a wonderful service.
Nov 22: so pls they have reopened. The place is clean and the service is brilliant. Finally I get to try the baked rice. A delight.

知佢近日重開，時間約16:40 試試下午茶，只開二樓，可能唔係咁多街坊知道，唔多客人，比起以前，卡位真係除便坐。
簡單叫了凍鴛鴦和公司三文治，公司治味道一般 但還可以($58) ，但凍鴛鴦…..冇啡味，冇茶味，小小甜味，喝了一杯啡色的清水($23)。

On my recent trip to HK I was so saddened to hear Mido Cafe, one of the oldest Cha Chaan Tengs in HK had closed down . On my last few days I heard the good news that they had re-opened so I ran straight there!!! It had been on my bucket list and it is hands down my favourite cafe in HK when it comes to aesthetic.
If you are a fan of old HK, Wong Kar Wai, Retro etc. etc. you MUST visit Mido Cafe. Please everyone support this business so a piece of history does not leave Hong Kong again. It was even in the world of suzi Wong. That’s how old it is!
The waiter was super friendly and let me take a million photos and the food was decent. But the real appeal is the old aesthetic and history ❤️

Traditional HK style cafe that looks very authentic old school on the inside. Come here for the vibes. Food was ok.
Come here for the nostalgic, old time decor. The 50s window frames, tiled walls and columns, laminated booth seats and severely weathered plastic cups contribute to the feel of being in a relic. The food quality may make it memorable but for the wrong reasons. Baked pork chop rice – the pork is actually not bad, the sauce creamy but tasteless, not a piece of tomato in sight, and the fried rice was hard and dry. Sandwich bread was hard and dry, luncheon meat was paper-thin. They have a no-photo policy but not sure how enforced it is.

服務ok,環境有feel坐得舒服,可惜食物質素非常一般,叫了焗豬扒飯,飯炒底ok,豬扒切開ok,汁的味道ok,冇任何配菜,冇芝士,冇賣相可言,份量偏少,賣88蚊唔ok!凍奶茶23蚊,非常一般,兩樣加起埋單111蚊,只收現金,二樓嚴禁攝影,所以冇相睇,唔信可以一試,我就肯定冇下次！

An old style cafe at Kowloon Temple street. Very authentic and back to the 50’s Hong Kong. The menu design are very special with the cafe history background noted. The interior and exterior building are very interesting. A very memorable and meaningful experience of the past. The food are not bad.

If you love local HK food this is the place to come!!! It’s location is convenient and the staff is friendly and they can speak English fluently so you won’t have an issue with language barriers. They have the best milk tea ever. You must try it.

Walking in here is a trip through time. The decor inside and out hasn’t changed for decades and you really feel the history of the place while seated. The vintage tiles and windows really makes for a great atmosphere for a quick bite or a full meal. Food is above average, with the fried rice noodles falling a little short as they were a bit too oily and not crispy. The beef noodles were delicious and stir fried to perfection, and the sandwiches were properly toasted and tasted great

It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, we passed by for a quick snack because we had some time before going to the movies. I’m really glad Mido Café has reopened. It still has its same retro vibe and it’s just wonderful sitting at the open window and watching life go by outside in the temple’s park across the street while sipping on a strong cup of milk tea. I tried French toast with ham and cheese, didn’t expect it to come with syrup but it’s not bad at all! I wish this place can be conserved forever.

價錢偏貴，但味道不錯，而且這種舊式茶餐廳，很少見了
時間彷彿停止的餐廳。感覺就像坐著時光機回到了過去。吐司一般，不過最後一天來這裡吃晚飯，氣氛不錯，在涼爽的晚風中坐了很久。
We ordered french toast, it was soaked with syrup, super oily and way too much over sweet.
Mix juice ice is super bland.
You need to order food & beverage minimum 25 HKD per person.
The staff are not well mannered, and can instantly look down to you if you are ordering less than their minimum.
The place is very old and not tidy.
Overall, avoid at all costs !!

炒飯味道一般。
奶茶的味道比起蘭芳園差了點。
不過炒飯的份量真的很大還不錯^^

唔好對食物有好味嘅期望。外地遊客，嚟影張相算啦。
70幾年兩層樓“騎樓”舊式香港餐廳，彩色玻璃舊鐵窗，細格拼砌階磚仔，就連奶茶杯的各種花痕都顯示出相當年份。當日去個時只開二樓作堂食。厚厚的一本餐牌，有70%頁數是這裏的相片，可能是什麼出名攝影師們的作品，好不容易搵到餐點個幾頁。點了蝦多士，熱奶茶，凍檸樂。蝦多士夠鬆化，蝦亦新鮮，而且蝦跟多士並不會各自分離，$88 四件。奶茶就一般，並不算很有茶味的那一種。假日三點半左右，四枱客並不多人。因為有不少香港電影都曾到此取影，加上古舊味道十足，值得到此打一下卡。

Loved the aesthetic, both indoor and outdoor.
Has a warm nostalgic vibe and I love the big neon sign and the decor.
Service was quick, food was good.
The opening times are odd though.
I went there for dinner and last order was at 20.00.
I think they would do much better business if they keep the restaurant open for dinner.
