A unique cafe that gives a modern touch to the traditional Hong Kong style cafes. The egg tarts are very good with plenty of flavors to try. The coffee was also very well done like a proper specialty coffee.

Tai On’s egg tarts are one of the best in Hong Kong. It’s a marriage between traditional egg tarts and lava cakes. The molten caramel centre will surely make your mouth water. The original Tai On was a cha chaan teng. After transforming into a cafe, Tai On celebrates ‘East meets West’ with creative dishes and drinks. Tai On also organises local tours, helping both Hongkongers and tourists to explore Yau Ma Tei, a district with stories to tell.
A cha chaan teng that belongs to this generation
This cha chaan teng started in 1969 but taken over by the current owner Mr Sun in March 2022. He has a vision for this cha chaan teng and infused new vibes and life into the shop while maintaining the name look of the original cha chaan teng.
The image of cha chaan teng is old, service is bad and the servers are rude. But in Tai On you will find nothing of this sort. They are friendly, price is easy for the wallet unlike the new generation cafe.
Is definitely a must visit cha chaan teng if you are in Hong Kong. You will experience their vibes, caught the vision for the future and values that the cha chaan teng valued.
大隱隱於市嘅 “茶餐廳”。大安茶水廳混合咗一般港式茶餐廳嘅格調、樓面、基本餐飲組合，同埋高檔次西餐菜式，例如“腐乳卡邦尼煙鴨胸意粉” 同 “煎梅菜肉餅漢堡”。咖啡選擇都係西餐廳嘅選擇，所以整體價位都係100蚊左右。你可以覺得咁樣食個lunch 唔抵，但一間懷舊冰室唔頹廢，伙記又後生有禮貌，最少試左一次先再講。

cafe with the vibe of a traditional chachanten. love their eggtarts and coffee.
White chocolate pineapple bun was so special, it was a bit too sweet tho. Awesome fusion styles! Horlicks with coffee was a interesting but match combination which is unexpected in a good way. Also air conditioner is lovely.
