Noodles are very good, though I felt portion was a little bit small. As an American, perhaps I’m used to much larger portions! The congee was surprisingly very good. We probably enjoyed that better than the noodles.
One of The most delicious chinese noodles I’ve tasted. Staff are helpful and nice even if they have a hard time speaking English.
More power!
Good
Plain and salty for me, but the noodle was good. Portion is not that big.
This is one of the best Wanton Mee in my opinion.. A total must try in HK. They have one of the most authentic wanton and noodles here. If you have been to their branches located in Malaysia, you will understand that the taste compared to HK is unmatched (although it’s the same brand in a different country). If you are looking for original HK styled Wanton Mee.. Look no further
They serve very good noodles. Although the place is small, it is very clean and the waiters and waitresses are also neat especially with their uniforms that make them look very presentable and dignified. It’s a very short walk from Nathan Road in Tsim Sha Tsui so it is convenientlylocated. The walk would be worth it because the food is really good. Five stars!!
Best noodle for the price! Smaller portions than usual, so if hungry, order two bowls! Yummehhhh!! ?? …
Excellent noodles
Great won ton noodle.
Love it like always
Soup is normal but shrimp wonton is delicious for me.
Perfect noodles
Noodles and wonton are not too shabby and as others said service is pretty bad. Waitress has horrible look on her face as if someone pooped on her face. No smile or thank you. This is one of those late night places for a late night noodle if you feel hungry around 11:00 pm. I told him I wanted my noodles cooked well and soft. He put noodles in the boiling soup water for about 10 seconds and said they were cooked ??? The noodles arrived still hard at my table. This is pretty much a gourmet version of 7-11 instant noodles with 3 pieces of Wonton shrimp in a small bowl for $43 HKD. On a scale of 1-5 the noodles and shrimp are a 4 but they lost 1 Star for the non-friendly staff and for not following request to cook noodles properly
poor service, very small bowl noodle , expensive
Wonton noodles are great. The wonton and dumplings are thinly wrapped and the fillings are frm fresh ingredients.
Lacks good chilli sauce or spices.
This is one of the branches, which is around the highly affluent tsim sha sui area. So this branch is very neat and tidy.
Prices are not too cheap since you would merely be eating noodles and side dishes. But nonetheless, i great noodles and a Must try
It is as legendary as they say. A must
Pretty nice
the noodle and the soup are delicious, one of the best
Usual HK customer service style means don’t expect any service and smile. Portion is very small even as a HK local I would say it’s really for tourist. Taste is okay, a bit too salty. Have a lot better choices then this.
It could be higher if the customer services were better.
Noodles are good, especially the beef tendons. Priced around 40-60hkd per serving. Servings are quite small. Clean place
Had their wonton noodle, noodle was bouncy and shrimp wontons was delicious. The soup is on the saltier side which I actually like, it made the noodle even more flavorful. The wonton bowl was small but it’s cheap and you can always order more than 1. Definitely recommend this place for their wonton noodle.
Try their signature wonton noodle soup.
The service was on the low side for me. The staff weren’t the friendliest but the noodles were so delicious! I ordered the beef brisket noodles while my husband had the wanton.
It’s truly authentic and had a real feel of local food. The shop was tiny, and you may have to share your table with others which is pretty common in Hongkong. The serving size was just too little for me to truly savor the delicious bowl of beef briskets. The price is also on the higher side for a tiny bowl. But you do get what you pay for!
Good for quick eat.
Fantastic food
Less is more. Mak’s serves quality noodles & congee over quantity.
Mak’s Noodle has a total of 9 outlets all over Hong Kong. So far, we have visited at least 4 out of these 9 over the past 3 years from Causeway Bay to Tsim Sha Tsui. Fisherman’s congee or San Pan Congee (荔灣艇仔粥) is our “must eat” and top favorite. Besides, we also love the inexpensive (HKD28.00) Shredded Dried Scallop Plain Congee. Seafood ingredients are of top grade.
Mak’s brand of food standard is consistent. This outlet we visited at 19 Lock Road was well-lit, excellent restaurant hygiene and with clean toilet. Service crew were approachable. English menu available for non-Chinese speaking diners. Restaurant close at 0030hr. It is definitely a good venue for late dinner or even supper. Dining option includes well-packed takeout service. Reservation is not necessary as the turn around is quite fast.
(Take note, Google Maps show another addresses at 32 Lock Road of the same Restaurant. The correct Place is at 19 Lock Road. The former is a duplicate with wrong address.)
Noodles are good, broth is very tasty and wontons are nice. Service is ok but not the best. Portion sizes are rather small so may want to get a few dishes if you are very hungry.
So yummy. The noodles are to die for and the wonton are nice fresh and bouncy.
This is the first time I have ever written a review but feel I have to given that the food served was both extremely bland and incredibly small – which I suppose was some sort of blessing! I have no idea how this chain continues to attract customers as this one won’t be going back.
Went into an almost empty shop but got rejected because they insist my baby stroller to be parked outside and carry baby while we eat ?! Also suggested us to eat elsewhere. Classic.
I had Mak’s Wanton Dumplings Scooped Noodle HK77. I saw the Wanton Noodle HK40 thinking that I would get more dumplings due to the higher price but no! I got two tiny wantons and two tiny dumplings. Although they were very tasty and the texture perfect.
The dry noodle was such a small serving it literally took 3 mouthful for me to finish it! So I was still hungry when I finished the Wontan Noodle. I found the noodle thinner than other places which I didn’t like as much. It was also slightly undercooked and slightly too hard.
I then ordered the Fresh Beef Noodle HK60. It was just a few thin slices of beef coated with some corn starch in clear soup and thin egg noodle. The beef was fresh, tender and tasty but the soup and noodle was very bland. It wasn’t worth the money as the serving was also pathetically small and I finished it in another 3 mouthful.
I like the Wontan Noodle but I don’t like the Beef Noodle. Mak’s soup has more MSG in comparison with Lung Kee’s, Shek Kee’s and Lau Sum Kee’s but the least oily.
I ended with HK150 bill which I didn’t understand where the extra HK13 from and not a very satisfying meal!
I would much rather go to Lung Kee’s for a completely satisfying bowl of noodle.
Wanton Noodle 4/5
Beef Noodle 2/5
Pathetic serving size -1
