So what makes Spring Moon mooncake so tasty and always highly sought after? The story goes all the way back to the 80s, when a famous food critic passed the secret recipe of egg custard filling to the chef. Since then the egg custard bun has became a signature dim sum of this restaurant, and eventually evolved to the form of mooncake. Alas, they used to make deep fried version of the egg custard bun, but it was taken away from menu probably due to healthy reason.
Needless to say the dim sum are of a high standard. The soup dumpling is one of the best I could find.

Best Chinese restaurant in the world. Unparalleled service, inventive cuisine and a nostalgic atmosphere. Had my wedding reception here also.
Very bad service to youth. Once went for dinner banquet. However stopped and asked in poker face if to fetch Moon cakes rather than greeting to seating.

我們第一天選擇了點心課程,第二天選擇了單點點心。強烈推薦點菜。
第一次來的朋友說,最先出來的核桃點心讓人欲罷不能。
點心配上一流的食材和調料,自然美味。
我點的海蜇作為茶點點的,和我在其他餐廳吃的海蜇形狀不一樣,裡面還摻了黑醋,非常好吃。如果你在油炸蒸食之間吃它,你的嘴就會復位,你就可以想吃多少就吃多少。
我在任何商店都經常吃的牙籤花蜜絕對好吃。
我午餐吃了點心。雖然是套餐,但是是半島酒店的餐廳,味道和服務都讓人滿意。

【燒味涼菜拼盤】
叉燒,涼拌海蜇,叉燒
叉燒皮薄脆甜,調味沒有過人之處,部位於胸,口感較差。
海蜇比起一般切絲海蜇皮明顯不同,大朵完整,口感好,調味一般。
叉燒為此盤當中之最,醬汁甜稠,口感潤,黏,綿,調味具特色,相當相當好吃。
【松茸竹笙燉螺頭】
老機雞湯底,濃郁無油,竹笙爽脆,好喝,其餘配料不值一提。
【野菌頭抽煎班柳】
簡單說就是炸魚配煎野菇,魚肉不柴也不嫩,口感較一般,麵衣偏濕,此菜一般。
【蟲草花蒸滑雞】
雞肉三塊,結實但是相當嫩,很特別,不像是純雞腿或是低溫烹調的嫩,而是像經過某種醃製法做出來的,調味就像是醬油乾煎,這道好吃。
【乾鮑荷葉飯】
裹腹用的,不值一提。
【楊枝甘露】
裡頭是柚子跟芒果,整體表現一般,不如去外面吃個聰嫂。
【奶皇流沙包】
好吃,但是也非獨一無二,台中倒掉的天天見麵做的就有95%像了,佳麟樓的皮更薄而已。
【芋頭】
一絕,外層麵衣似冰晶,觸之即碎,內層麵衣薄脆不濕,內餡為肥豬肉丁燉芋泥,一口咬下,口感豐富,口味極佳,相當好吃的一道點心。
【蝦餃】
蝦子脆甜,調味樸實,簡單好吃。

我不時使用它,因為它很容易預訂。朗廷酒店的 Tokaku 和 Rosewood’s Legacy 也很難預訂。和那些餐廳相比,我覺得味道還不錯。
