Their 江戶前寿司 is probably one of the best in HK. Owner of this restaurant is the key tuna supplier in Tsukiji fish market which explains why their fishes are so good in quality. Environment, atmosphere and service are also good
The place has a nice atmosphere and nice hosts. The food is a legend, looks, tastes and feels like you are in one of those cooking shows with top chefs serving small dishes full of wonder.
I ate there dinner and came alone since my BF doesn’t eat fish. If you want a very tasty and extra-ordinary delicious sushi – this is the place for you!
The chef’s were really good but I felt a bit left alone and they were mainly talking with a couple that sat next to me. I realize that if i would come with my BF it would feel different but sitting for 2 hours was a bit weird in that atmosphere.
Anyway, this was a side note and the food is totally worth it!
Awful attitude to children, treats them like dogs that are not allowed in the restaurant, the staff were disgusted when we arrived looking for a table and we were told we were not allowed in with children!!
超好味!
魚是很新鮮,但Sushi味道太單一。而且不論魚種都實用赤醋米,飯糰的味道蓋住了魚的鮮味。吃到最後我只係食到赤醋米的酸鹹味道
Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Hong Kong. Mr Taga (San) is the head chef at Sushi Tokami (Hong Kong). He’s really friendly and funny, which definitely make you feel comfortable and relax when you are served by him. Sushi is extraordinary, comparing to Sushi Shikon, I personally think that Sushi Tokami is even performing better. From Mr Lam’s Family
famous for tuna rice bowl. just the cutting is below par. the volume of tuna is more than the rice. and the rice is treated with sesame and seaweed. however, the services let off the restaurant. worth a go for tuna lover!
米芝蓮星星日本餐廳, 午餐 12 – 16 件( 視乎你揀邊種價位,800元 up),即人均 1000 大元。
店唔大,都係坐吧檯,可以見到廚師整壽司,nice ?,壽司基本冇太多花巧,但係魚生本質幾鮮美, 用料亦都用心思, 例如伴碟嘅醃蘿蔔、淮山,仲有似青瓜咁嘅樣,食落亦似青瓜咁嘅味但實質係小蜜瓜嘅,都好味 ?。特別鍾意吞拿魚手捲, 據說係用吞拿魚嘅頸部肉,所以特別嫩。
服務亦都很好,每上一件壽司,廚師都會用 “還聽得懂的中文” 跟你說是什麼魚, 服務員也會再跟你詳細解釋, 離開店的時候,廚師還會跑到門口跟你鞠躬道謝。
?咁有乜嘢缺點呢?
1. 整個上菜速度太慢, 差唔多食咗兩個鐘( 個半鐘一定走唔甩)。

The first time I came to Hong Kong for business trip, I sat at a the counter at a Japanese restaurant, and there was Itamae-san of Sushi Tokami. Ever since that meeting, I’ve always wanted to eat at Sushi Tokami, and one Friday night, my plans suddenly got cancelled so I decided to go to Sushi Tokami since I hadn’t had sushi in a while. Luckily, I was able to get a reservation last minute. Everyone must have their own preferences but I really enjoy the way Itamae-san handles the fish, the way he prepares the rice, and the rice itself how it’s a bit hard and uses red vinegar. Though it can be pricey, it’s worth it, especially for the quality of the fish. You wouldn’t be able to find another place with this high quality sushi with this price point. Unfortunately, I was already quite full, so I couldn’t really enjoy the sushi. Next time I want to come here for lunch! The sake was really expensive! So difficult to find sake that is affordable in Hong Kong…
Expensive but worth it once in your life. I did the set menu, $2200 HKD per person.

日本水準的星級鮨店
Ordered the 16 pieces set. Pricey but you really get good stuff.
You get an appetizer, flounder, maguro, chutoro, otoro, special tuna rolls, perfect prawns, superb portion of uni, squid, snack, mackerel etc.
What is unique is the red vinegared sushi rice, very different texture from other edomae period sushi restaurants.
They speak good English, mandarin and Cantonese here. So you don’t have to worry about conversing in Japanese only.
Expensive but worth a try definitely.

Compared to other ‘acclaimed’ top sushiya in HK, sushi Tokami is one of the most reliable spots to dine at. You can tell the ingredients are extremely fresh. That day I ordered the set of 16 pieces of sushi for $1200.
First came the seaweed and kegani (crab) appetizer, a very refreshing dish to start the meal.
Then came several white fish sushi and three types of tuna, I especially loved the otoro (the fattiest part).
My favourites were the squid and white shrimp as they had a very chewy and collagen-like texture, which was stunning. The sardine was also the highlight, fatty and full of flavour.
As summer is sea urchin season, I had high expectation for the quality of the sea urchin that will be served towards the end, and I was not disappointed at all. I was given a genrous portion and the uni was incredibly sweet and fresh.
I also have to mention how great the anago (sea eel) was, it was very tender and immediately melts in your mouth.
All in all, a great experience at sushi Tokami, the head chef and the staffs were accommodating. Will definitely visit again soon.
Sushi Tokami is an offshoot of the very popular sushi-ya in Tokyo (Chef Sato-san of Hakkoku and Tokami fame).
As many reviewers have already mentioned, the owners of Tokami are also owners of a very reputable Tuna supplier in Tokyo, hence the consistently high quality of the fish (neta).
This is a great place for a special occasion (it’s rather pricey!), and definitely one of the best sushi-yas in Hong Kong.
We had about 5 otsumamis and 12 nigiris before dessert and fruits. Couple of interesting dishes that were not common (baby eel, and the tuna tossaki roll which was pretty bloody awesome). The shari is warm with a slight tang and was the perfect bed for the neta.
Chef spoke a little English and Cantonese and was engaged with all customers throughout dinner service, which is pretty impressive considering there’re 10 seats compared to most omakase counters with only 6-8 seats.
Good for: special date night, when you’re feeling bourgeoisie, when you don’t know how else to spend your money.

The sushi was delicious – obviously very fresh and a good cut for all the different fish we sampled. The service was quick and friendly. We left fully satisfied and would come back if we lived locally.

因為是午餐的關係只有壽司套餐,不過多樣化的醃漬小菜、美味的鮪魚,尤其馬糞海膽用量大膽,在香港算是相當超值,下次再訪想嘗試晚間的主廚推薦套餐。
The worst experience at a Japanese sushi restaurant. We arrived, the chef was not even in the room. After 5 minutes, he finally came out and didn’t even say hello. I never seen a Japanese sushi chef leaving the room so often than in this restaurant. Then, the fish was not cut in front of us which kind of make the experience not worth it. The chef just put the sushi in front of us without explaining what it was. The only time he talked was to ask me to move for the waitress who was pouring tea for me. Overall, the restaurant is intimate, the staff are nice and welcoming but facing the rude chef who clearly does not want to be there ruined our lunch. I wasted my time and my money there.
Food was alright and reasonably priced for a Michelin starred sushiya. Atmosphere and communication with chef was subpar, quite often the sushi chef here doesn’t cut the fish and neta by himself, resulting in an incoherent dining experience. Maguro tossaki was the highlight

Excellent sushi
quality of seafood is exceptional
Chef very funny and friendly
All ingredients, sashimi was already cut upon arrival which was rather shocking. My instant thought – was it leftovers and unfortunately most dishes tasted fishy. The chef didn’t cut any fish in front of us, making it less of a high end sushi place experience but he did try his best to communicate with us. The star dish was the uni maki, it was rich with creamy sweetness! The toro handroll – as good as it looked it was tasteless and I didn’t dare to ask the chef why. We paid HKD 3960 (3 pax) for lunch. Overall It was quite disappointing.
High quality dishes and sushi! It’s a fantastic experience. And the double-deck sea urchin sushi is exceptional!

位於海港城,位置較為隱蔽,一不小心就會錯過。過江龍鮨店由大將真藤剛志主理,功架十足。有時候真覺得廚師發辦 除了能滿足味覺跟視覺,更能體會到職人精神,整頓饗宴尤如一場表現。
Lunch有12貫/14貫/16貫 三種,定價為HKD800/1000/1200。雖然定價較高,但整個體驗絕對值呢個價錢!壽司師傅相當幽默,壽司質素高之餘,服務不輸五星級酒店。

It is barely 2 stars when compared to other omakase sushi sets at similar price.
Reasons:
Variety of fish is not special, some are very fishy
Fish is pre-sliced instead of freshly cut from a loaf
miso soup is tasteless
handroll is not crunchy
sushi rice is filled with soy sauce and loose
Just had an omakase lunch at Sushi Tokami and it was brilliant. It is a classical style omakase and the room itself is designed to match. Both the location and food are elegant and very subtle. The flavours of the food are well chosen and the chef is extremely friendly and open to talking about his craft.
food is just so so compared those fine dining sushi omakasei. I don’t think will come for second time.

Bad place , not even mention about it. Such a restaurant didnt allow using another credit card to pay on site but insist the booking credit card to pay part of the deposit … such an embrassment if you bring client to it… doesnt make sense at all
