Ask for Alonzo

Everything at all the Ask For Alonzo locations is great. Their newest location at Happy Valley has a great patio in front for people and tram watching. They also have a patio in the back for quiet dining.

I had a set of bruschetta and a cup of black coffee last Sunday at this small cozy restaurant. A great way to settle my Sunday afternoon since I was trying very hard to reduce alcohol consumption. Simple and nice food helps. Bravo Alonzo.

之前食過大坑分店，食物質數同服務都好滿意。
見到跑馬地新開想嚟試下，系openrice見到有三個勁負評但係Google map又勁多好評，覺得好奇，都係親自試下先知好壞，畢竟各人口味唔同。
四個刷得之人連開胃菜主食同甜品都食咗10道菜，飲埋餐酒，除咗炸豬扒比較乾身之外，其餘都好好味，我地尤其鍾意牛扒（香嫩），炸魷魚（雖然唔系香脆路線），蜆肉意粉（鮮甜清新）同番茄麵包（香口清新），系水準之上。
一開始為咗穩陣，都系先叫兩樣餸，好食又再叫兩樣咁叫…。
真心覺得以意大利餐廳嚟講，仲要系港島，呢間算系物有所值，服務都合格，位又唔算逼，會再幫襯。

Absolute delicious! The breakfast carbonara is their famous dish but the rigatoni amatriciana is deliciousness in a bowl 😍And the lasagna!! Everything is yum! 😅 …

They has increase the volume of their pasta and so it more filling. Enjoyment with dogs is added star for this Resturant.

Overall: Great place to eat and will come back

Food:. Food was very good and of very high quality. Bread and seafood (sorry forgot to take a photo) were also excellent.

Service: Service team was great and responsive.

Decor:. Dining room was a bit tight but comfortable. Limited seating but best if you cann snag one of the roadside spots. Music was a bit loud but they accommodated by turning it a bit down

Value: Overall not bad considering the quality and effort the team put into it.

A great place. Went for brunch and thought the food was great. It’s a small place so a little tight but the food alone is worth the stop.

I came here for breakfast. I enjoyed the breakfast carbonara with near crispy bacon that complimented the sauce nicely. The spaghetti was cooked just right for my liking. The beef carpaccio was equally good. Great place to while away your time on a lazy weekend and this place plays some catchy fast-moving music.

On Easter Monday, we headed to Ask for Alonzo’s for breakfast. The first thing we noticed was how well-designed the restaurant was. Despite its small size, the area feels incredibly spacious and comfortable. The clean and modern atmosphere, as well as the way they extend the seating towards the front, make this a great place to visit.

The Roman Meatballs, Breakfast Carbonara, and Lasagna were among the dishes we ordered. All three dishes were delicious, and the amounts were large. The breakfast carbonara was quite tasty. The carbonara sauce was outstanding.

We went to take advantage of their drink special (add 198 HKD for 2 hours of free flow). The cocktail menu is extremely extensive, with red and white wine, prosecco, and beer mixers to pick from. We were advised to try their vodka with homemade lemonade juice by the staff. We like the drink since it was so refreshing!

After our meal, the staff was courteous and even provided us a free tiramisu! which we found quite enjoyable.

Following the meal, we sampled two of their artisan brews (Hefeweizen and Jian Xi Orang IPA). They were tasty and provided a pleasant opportunity to unwind and converse after the meal.

The restaurant is one that I would suggest. The atmosphere, cuisine, and service are all excellent.

Good food, but occasionally taking a long time for main courses to be prepared / delivered.

Worst service ever. The manager is terrible. Restaurant week deal is the worst. They charge more than a la carte. If you sit by the window, water drips consistently. Also, do check the bill as the restaurant tried to overcharge. I had high hope going into this restaurant but I feel very unhappy leaving here. Would never go back.

Went for lunch and the food was even better than the quarry bay shop! Ordered my usual roasted vegetable salad- this one was less salty and oily than QB. My son ordered the spaghetti carbonara and I couldn’t help but steak a few bites. Wow. Al dente but still soft with the crispiest bacon and loads of grated Parmesan. Prices for lunch included an option to add on soup or salad and soft drinks/coffees. A good value when balanced. I added $48 for a caprese salad was surprisingly large and the quality was so fresh. I’ve paid $200 for caprese salads in hk that have been like supermarket deli counter quality so this was a shock.

New fave lunch/brunch spot (only because I cannot afford the dinner calories)

Service was a bit slower than I remember. The mushroom pasta was under seasoned and needed quite a bit of salt. We never got the breadbasket or truffle mayo the give at the start either.

The worst quality food, I got a piece of pork that was more than 70 percent fat, only about 25 grams was edible. I told them I wanted something else and that I would pay for it, but I was being polite. They should’ve at least put a discount. Instead they charged me full price for the dish I only ate 30% of. Then I got a risotto instead, and this was the worst risotto I’ve ever had in my life, taste like rice with Velveeta. The manager has no idea what she is doing, and the chefs have clearly never had real italian food. Then they also tried to charge us for multiple items that they didn’t even serve. Terrible place, an absolute scam, stay away.
