My new favorite coffee place to sit through the entire afternoon, to casually read a book, or to get some serious working done. Love the owners and their chilled vibes. Great coffee and food. Fantastic place to unwind and relax.

Amazing coffee
Read a lot of good things about their coffee but I was honestly disappointed. Flatwhite was bitter and blend.
Second time to this place. The first wasn’t bad but had some similar vibes to the second which was a pretty cold experience. The staff ignored us at the counter for almost 5 minutes, even though they were standing directly in front of us. They couldn’t even muster a “Hello I’ll be with you in a few minutes”. When they did take our order they just looked at us without engaging. We asked if a particular type of coffee was a double shot or single, which was replied that it can be either. They then charged us for 2 drinks with extra shots and added on 10hkd each for the extra shots… even though only one of us wanted an extra shot. All this could have been avoided if the person working was in the slightest bit interested or passionate about hospitality and had engaged with us. We felt completely unwelcome as if we were putting them out.
The space is nice and gives off a warm feel but the whole experience was sterile due to the coldness of the staff. We had planned on chilling there for a while but got out as quickly as we could when our coffee eventually arrived (an unusually long wait). The coffee itself was decent but cost just under 100hkd for 2. With soo many other good coffee shops in the area, offering the same style of coffee at a significantly cheaper price, it seems a bit expensive.
I haven’t tried the food so cannot comment on that however people tell me it is good.
Overall it was a real let down. I believe the owners have experience in the industry and understand it can be hard to find the right help however I have read a few reviews now about the poor service and I hope they address it.
Average drink and food. Quite interesting menu. Can stop by if you happen to be nearby.
Ok cappuccino, unfriendly waitress, did neither say hi nor good bye, never asked what we would like to have. Avocado sandwich was ok, though only semi toasted, and not worth the price. Sorry, I expected a bit more than a bored waitress in a supposedly happy place

The cafe is wholesome in it’s state. With something for everyone, with financial newspapers, good wifi and music.
They specially made us the ice cream brownie even though it wasn’t there on the menu. Really appreciate the staff’ kindness.

It’s a highly regarded coffee shop in Sai Ying Pun area and we were very excited before visiting. Yet, the shop wouldn’t allow people entering shop if they don’t use the Leave Home Safe app. At first, we asked can we write down our personal info, they rejected by saying sorry that they have no paper at the shop… == so we offered to write on my own paper they then finally revealed that they don’t allow anyone visiting without using the Leave Home Safe app. So we left the shop because I don’t have the app installed on my phone.

She will always frown at you if you speak to her in Cantonese and pretend she can’t understand Cantonese (but she speaks to the coffee barista next to her in Cantonese?!)

I am not sure why non-guide dogs are allowed to dine in when it has been stated clearing dogs are prohibited from entering food premises under Section 10B of the Food Business Regulation (Cap. 132X).
Coffee (flat white) is already full of bubbles when it was served.
DETOUR and avoid this place.
Go up to Fineprint/ Go down to Winstons if you want a decent coffee.

Not my first time here. Food is surprisingly refreshing and simple looking. Love the coffee. Very light and smooth. The cappuccino with soy milk was really nice. The iced latte wasn’t strong enough for me but nothing to complain about. The grilled sandwich was quite savoury too. It’d be great if i can have grilled cheese there! I believe it’s gonna be amazing!

Good to have an affogato in the cold. The shot of hot espresso is amazing, and on the sour and nutty side. HOWEVER, the ice cream is NOT properly defrost and there were a lot of crushed ice that worsen the flavour. They should have used a more premium ice-cream or gelato for a better taste.
Staff were so nice
Great food, really chilled out place. Drinks selection is great too. One huge plus for me was they had Yorkshire tea as one of their selections. Spoke with the owner too who’s an amazing guy and great to chat with
been there few times and the coffee is good with nice environment. Depending on who’s on duty that day, few staff there are not so smart with below par servicing, but overall it’s a good coffee shop.

Detour SYP is perfect for people who are looking for coffee place to work, rest and chill, especially at there outdoor big table. They are famous for avocado toast while I personally think their Chicken Spinach Pesto Sandwich is something you won’t want to miss.

Food taste very good as expected. Avo toast is very IG-able. I suppose for brunch/cafe items this is average price in the area (except the tomato, which was delicious but damn, $10😂)
