Every time I go to Lucale I eat something different and its always delicious. They are known for their fresh pastas. The level of skill they have in making these pastas is MASTER LEVEL.
The ambience is cool, relaxed and the wait staff are always attentive to us. The service is awesome, it is truly an authentic Italian experience. The food is Michelin level, and the prices are very very reasonable for the quality. You cannot compare the value with any other Italian restaurant in town. Seriously, this is the BEST ITALIAN restaurant in town. My sister is a vegetarian and they accommodate her, my nephew is gluten intolerant and they accommodate him; myy family in general are picky, and guess what, they accommodate them. 5 STARS… I’ll be back.

They offer something for everyone, vegetarian, gluten free, paleo etc. I would highly recommend them for their versatility in food.

Honestly I can say that its alright despite the staff don’t really ask you how the food is and not even once, the place is verg cold and there are no blankets and the place is very dimly lighted. 6/10

A wonderful italian restaurant in the Sai Ying Pun area.
Generally every thing is to a high standard. Except that it pasta, they are hand made and exceptionally good – a huge experience and they attribute this to their flour..a unique one. Then the pasta was elevated to another level with the seasonal Alba truffle. Which was weighed and religiously placed on top.
What an experience!!!

Was disappointed with this place. The starters were actually very nice. Well prepared and tasty. However the main courses were a let down. The beef cheek and sea bass were very limited in taste and presentation. Not much effort here. The wine selection is also very limited and expensive for what they offer. I know it’s a popular place but for Italian food, there are far better options in the city.

Fantastic free flow brunch at great price

Staff wasn’t attentive, told them to bring over the bouquet when the 3rd person shows up but they forgot and needed reminding… didn’t refill water or ask if we need extra drinks… felt pressured to order more when we placed our order, the original portion we wanted to order was just enough. The waitress with a bun has a poker face and isn’t friendly nor welcoming.

Food was okay, not exceptional, just average. We ordered bolognese ragu pappardelle and a truffle spaghetti. Ah the beef cheek was nice, it’d be better if it’s served hot. The bread was nice too. The tropical egg dessert was creative and unique.

Great space , little hidden away spot surprises you with a spacious ambience and service was very hospitable . Food I felt was normal. Flavours and texture were not as cohesive as I would like. Calamari excited very nicely but the little crunchy puffs of quinoa and nut get stick in your teeth which distracts from the tender squid . Perhaps a pistachio mousse , thicker lines of squid ink with puff buckwheat would have been better. Needed citrus aswell.

White bolognaise was ok but I felt it lacked depth and some thyme at the time of reheating would have elevated it. I added a solid amount of pepper to bring it to life.

Beef cheek was tasty , really like the candied kumquat , I wish the celery root was roasted to a darker state before blending to a purée to add some nuttier notes. Beef cheek could have been braised in deeper flavours or perhaps brined before braising.

I wish the Corn dessert was a frozen parfait , needed more corn flavour and the white vinegar gel was a very strange combination in my opinion.

Tiramisu lacked richness in the mascarpone and would of preferred a thicker layer of soaked lady fingers

I’ve been to this restaurant for few years and I always came back coz I enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. the service was really disappointing this time. I understand that the brunch stopped at 3 and was definitely aware of the time even we came at 1:30. However, the waiter kept pushing us all the food even I requested the dessert to be served later. One of the waiter even combined the dishes without asking. After I told him I preferred to have the dishes separated, he said” up to you” and used the fork to separate the food in a clumsy way. I understand it yet the presentation was bad. And when the bill came, they kept pushing us to pay. Everything was done in a rush. I ve been a fan for this restaurant for the past few years, every time it was great service. Eventually, I asked why the service had become so bad. No one came back and tried to understand why I had such a comment.

This is not a fast food place. If the time is limited, you could ask me to come earlier or do not take my reservation.

This is a great restaurant but bad service.
