Favourite Thai restaurant in HK. The decor may be relatively simple but the tastiness and freshness of the food is unrivaled. Prices are much more reasonable than the upmarket places that have sprung up along the High Street.
Phenomenal! No place like home! Chicken Laab at least once a week from here! If you want well served traditionally home cooked authentic Thai food, go here directly, do not pass go, do not collect 200 and get your bottom to a seat there, now!
Can I give ten stars? We just got back from Thailand and Thai on High was so much better! Amazing, fresh, perfectly balanced flavours. I can’t wait to come back.
Great Thai food, with the hike up the hills to get to. Fantastic mocktails!! You can also get fresh Thai coconut served here. Be prepared to wait a few minutes at times of heavy traffic, but it’s well worth the wait.
Overall solid Thai food. The phad Thai was very good with a nice texture, and a good mix of flavors. The menu lacked some amount of originality, and whilst I’d recommend this place for a quick and good Thai meal, I think there are better Thai options around that are more interesting. The price is reasonable though, so all in it’s worth it.
The papaya salad is always nice and refreshing. The red chillies they used was super spicy. It was fresh and a perfect balance of sweet, sour, salty, spicy.
The the noodles were some of the chewiest I have eaten. They were relatively thin and translucent for the wide noodles and were cooked to perfection. With good amount of vegetables and tofu.
The fried rice was good as well, with a plethora of vegetables including sweetcorn which is fairly rare for Thai food.
The greens were simple with plenty of garlic chunks. These always taste better in restaurants.

Good Thai food. Great service and nice atmosphere. Down to earth.
This is a great place which is quiet and offers traditional Thai food. We had a pomelo salad (I have never tried anything like this!), chrispy tofu and traditional chicken yellow curry which were all delicious.
Our mango salad was heavily dressed with fish sauce, food was good but nothing over the top. You can order Thai beer or local ones. Service is generally fast so you won’t have to wait long.
Amazing food. Really authentic Thai food. My favourite was the Yellow curry salmon and the Pad Thai Prawn.
The food was very good. The restaurant is a little cramped, but the food quality and price was good. The place is close to the Sai Ying Pun escalator, too.
Very nice decoration and yummy food! In a nice and quiet location with many other food options to explore as well! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Thai on High has a really authentic look and feel. The food was divine, cooked well and true to tradition! Friendly service that was quick and quality guaranteed! I would definitely recommend and revisit. One down point is the size, it’s a bit of a squeeze and quickly filled so you might have to wait for a seat. Also no reservations, but that’s neither here nor there 🙂
食物普通,服務態度有改善的需要。
Really yummy Thai food. The lunch set is a steal. 98 HKD for starter, main and drink (tea).
Usually the lunch options are either meat protein or vegetarian.
Ambiance is really nice – so very good for a work meeting in case you need to discuss something with a colleague. In a very quiet street of Sheung Wan, definitely worth the walk up from Queens Road Central to get a breather

Sugar sweet soft serve green curry. Pomelo bottle sauce salad. Tom not so yum. Thai for Gwei(lo)? Nice staff tho!
Delicious Thai food – popped in for dinner – Thai beer, mango salad and green curry with prawns – and did not disappoint! Great service.
My favourite Thai place in Sai Ying Pun! Great for a quick and reasonably priced lunch or dinner. Dishes taste authentic – there’s a good amount of spice and flavour. There’s a variety of choice with the stir-fry dishes (veggie, meat, prawns and salmon). It’s quite small though and you can’t reserve a table. Will return!
Best thai place in town. Everything on the menu is amazing
Clean and well run Thai restaurant. Hard to go wrong with anything.
Pretty good, Tom Yun is recommended (ask for bowl of rice with it).
Was a firm favorite before COVID-19. Every time I walk past the staff aren’t wearing masks. On the rare occasion one team member is wearing a mask, they have it under their chin.
Good food, we had Massaman Curry and Pineapple Fried Rice. Staff is friendly too.
Great thai food, good service!
Worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Seriously appallin .
Location on google maps was off but food was good
Sent us on 2 to extra cab rides
Just a mediocre Thai Restaurant. Overrated. go to spice house or samsen instead.
Decent Thai restaurant with nice staff, but doesn’t live up to the hyped reviews of it.
Really good Thai restaurant. Love the chicken satay.
A lovely little thai in Hong kong. Great authentic food but not overly cheap. But then again its Hong Kong.
偶然經過泰國門口餐廳,感覺不錯,食物的選擇不算多,味道還可以,但未必會再試
Good thai fusion food and so comfortable 🥰🙏 …
You will have a satisfying thai meal here in terms of their portion and taste.
Basil leaves minced chicken & Tom Yum soup are my favourite.
Very good tasting dishes. Love the pad thai
非常好的泰國菜。在香港少見到那麼地道的泰國料理!
Very friendly staff but the food is definitely all prepared in advance and microwaved. We ordered two stir fry dishes – pad kra pao and pad see ew. Both were disappointing. The pad kra pao had hardly any basil but tons of large red onion and makrut lime leaves, both unnecessary to this dish. The pad see ew was extremely overcooked and settled into large clumps. We didn’t finish either dish. A shame because it’s such a cute restaurant and the staff are genuinely welcoming.
Huge portions! I swear, the pork neck was twice the amount as most other places. It’s served with this homemade spicy sauce with green onions that was so delicious I drizzled on all of the other dishes. The spring rolls were thin, perfectly crispy, yet not a trace of burnt bits. And the pad see ew was so… bouncy — literally! Like playing with a Slinky. My toddler loved it so much she asked for thirds. She gave the meal a big thumbs up. And a huge coconut for only $40.
Excellent authentic Thai food with lovely flavours and extremely fresh veggies…the staff is polite and super helpful
Willing to give it another try, but my pad thai was just way too salty.
This restaurant is definitely over-rated
The noodle is salty and worst still the pork is not fresh. The two stars were given to the tum yam soup only. While the food quality is below average, the price is not, so disappointed
Probably the worst “Thai food” in HK. Save your $$ and go somewhere else.
Very nice food from this Thai place. We ordered take away, and its nicely well pack and cooked. Taste yummy.
Authentic thai food that is a bit on the sweet side, but you also get actual umami flavor from their food! The seats can be a bit small but the service and the reasonable price more than covers it. If it were so far from where I live I’d go regularly!
Today I found a worm in my tom yum soup at Thai Eatery by Thai on High (Queen’s Road Central)
Vegetarian friendly
