Excellent clay pot rice, wait for 3 took about a half hour. Michelin and worth a visit.
Great restaurant get your hotel to book the table or prepare to queie
Minimal fuss teochew/chiuchow cuisine. Very local. A good meal is ensured.
Food is delicious and well priced. Ambiance not so much 🙂
Best clay pot rice in town. Been here for years. Always packed.
Delicous! Rice with pork ribs is my recommendation! Waiting time is a bit too long.
Really good hot pot and super popular. You’ll need to book a table in advance.
Probably the best clay pot rice on HK island. Worth the wait. Rice takes nearly 40min to prepare. Make sure you make reservation. Difficult to walk-in.
My favorite dish is toad + eel clay pot.
Over hyped hole in the wall. Skip it. If your not a local they will discriminate and make you wait. Much better places other than this
Very nice claypot rice here. The pork bone broth is very good!
Tasty claypot rice.. always love the Chinese sausage.. also don’t miss out try other claypot dishes, equally yummy…
The only downside is the timing. We booked for 730pm. Although we reached at 7pm, we only got seated at 750pm. Anyway it was a Friday night so indeed it makes sense.
Will visit again for sure 🙂
The pork bone claypot soup was delicious — there was a lot of vegetables and I like the subtle peppery taste of the soup. The steamed minced pork and salted fish dish was a bit too salty but perfect to go with plain white rice. The claypot rice was a bit too dry for my taste, and the 臘腸 sausage was a tad too sweet (that is before adding the sweet soy sauce).
Generous portion with great taste. English menu available. No clay pot dishes for lunch, dinner only (starts at 6pm).
Loved the taste of my chicken preserved duck and sausage clay pot rice. Definitely worth a try
A very well know place for claypot rice. They also have a very wide range of cantonese / local dishes.
We ordered 3 dishes, timly and decent size portion sizes.
Flavouring was very good.
Prices slightly on the high side, but they can afford to add a premium, given the long queues.
They will try to usher you out once you are finished, seating is a little tight, and the place may seem a little tacky for people who are not used to this environment.
Wait too long for dinner, packed with the people but worth to wait
First warm reminder this is a typical local hk old style restaurant, where people is servicing with a very fast pace, if you cannot adopt to this, you will feel bad about their service. But once you showed them you are not a troublesome tourist and you order fast, leave while you finished right away, actually they’re nice.
The food is good, a traditional Chinese food claypot rice. Don’t miss the crispy rice sticked in the bowl, do dig them out! Around hkd 90 for one claypot rice, not a cheap one, but I would say worth trying.
The Claypot Rice takes long to cook but tastes really great!
Yes, it’s around $100 for the claypot rice and yes, it can be a 45 min wait, but if you can manage your expectations here it’s totally worth a try. The clay pots were delicious – we ordered the white eel & chicken and the chicken & preserved duck claypots plus some stir fried broccoli with garlic and this was perfect for two. The bill came to $275 which I don’t think is unreasonable for dinner for two in SYP.
We turned up at 6:15pm on a Saturday evening without a booking and the place was pretty packed with just a couple of tables free. Need to return to try the other claypot dishes!
This small shop is famous for its clay-pot rice which are made to order. So you should not be visiting the shop when you are very hungry as it takes time to prepare for you. There are a wide variety of choices and it is better to dine in group so that you can order more dishes to share.
Long line up but worth the wait. Dishes are steamy hot when serve. Food taste excellent.
Nice and a little bit too salty
Visit this claypot eatery at dinner time and it was really crowded, which is a good sign for good food.
Ordered chicken with cured sausage and was impressed by the tenderness of chicken and rice crisp at the base. HKD$95 seems to be the most expensive selection for the claypot rice but I’m not sure if it is average price or not.
I won’t come this area specially for this since there are many good claypot rice eatery in HK but if I’m in the area, I will want to eat here 🙂
Definitely need to queue so go earlier, famous for its claypot rice and the food is indeed quite good just you hope that they can use less MSG
The food is okay, but don’t go unless you ready for rude waitor and being treated as you are begging for them.
