It’s a terrible place. The loud music goes on after 11:15 pm. It disturbs the neighbourhood. Absolutely selfish and inconsiderate.
A very neat bar with quirky decor and unique art. The cocktails are between 100-200 HKD, and to be honest I’ve had better G&Ts. They also have wine, beer and other cocktails on the menu as well as some small bites. This is definitely a cool bar worthy of a visit, but be prepared to pay.

My first visit was two years ago and I remember it was very crowded with only standing space. The vibes were good, sort of like a faux speakeasy bar. Came here again last weekend and it was rather empty for a Sunday night. Their gin and tonic was good, though expensive, but the portion was huge. They also do classic cocktails like Manhattan, Old Fashioned, and you can order them off the menu. There was a little alley way behind so you don’t have to climb up the stairs for a cigarette.
Poor (and mean) service besides an average mojito which didn’t show the price on the menu.

Cool Gin Palace located in the real heart and soul of HK Island, Sai Ying Pun, and only a short walk up the hill from exit B2 of the MTR.
The decor is very low key and it suits the building incredibly well.
Whilst the drinks list isn’t an encyclopedia, it’s full of tasty Gins to try out and service was pretty good.

說來慚愧，是酒精和食物的誘惑，才搭車來到了西營盤站。但從刷過車票出閘後，生動的立體壁畫，便讓人察覺到這裡擁有不同的城市記憶。
身為港島最早開發的區域，第一街 第二街至今仍有許多當初做貿易留下的藥材店、魚翅燕窩南北貨，但比起空氣中的中藥味，更令人印象深刻的是，一個個不可思議的陡坡。這讓人們的生活步調，想快也快不起來，無論華人洋人，大家到這裡，好像都切換模式，準備來 chill ，來「鬆一下」。 這晚的第一攤是乒乓城，門面有趣、霓虹新穎，但跟透露過多劇情的預告片一樣，沒有太多驚奇(呃我也爆了雷)，不過，也因為沒有驚奇，沒有重低音，意外地能放鬆心情，好好地喝下一杯 London dry gin tonic，回味一天下來體會的香港情趣。

Nice drinks, reasonably priced, nice atmosphere. But I don’t think i’ve ever been to a bar that closes before 12am in HK.
Located in a hidden spot with an unique theme, it isn’t my cuppa so i won’t return.
It’s alright. Ping Pong’s main highlights are the door and the multi-story bar with the neon sign, but the visual identity otherwise is all over the place. The service isn’t great for what they’re charging. The gin cocktails were honestly rather good but very expensive, even for Island standards.
You could be in New York or Berlin. Really cool space with an exposed concrete warehouse feel. Walking down the long stairs from the innocent looking front door and you’re confronted with a large buzzing space full of young professionals enjoying themselves. The five different tapas we has were all excellent and wouldn’t be out of place in Spain. Maybe even better than the real thing, but I guess that’s why it’s on the pricier side. Highly recommended
super hip decor, but overpriced drinks and the food is quite insanely priced for the tiny tapas portions. i can’t believe what we paid for what we ate. apparently they redid their menu recently to skimp more on ingredients and the prawns used to be edible from the go now you pay for this massive prawn that is 1/3 the size once you are able to eat it. cool to see but please add more value in your food.

住在香港的哥哥說會推薦當地的酒吧，所以我就去了，但電影裡酒吧的入口下到地下室，卻是一扇紅門，潛伏著違法和危險。除此之外，沒有給出任何解釋。我打開紅色的門，等了好久才下樓，下樓一進去，我就“哇”了一聲，眼睛都瞪圓了。
這是一家專門經營“杜松子酒”的酒吧，各種酒精混合著香港風格的裝飾，讓室內充滿了紅色的氣氛。
如果我再去香港，我一定會去這裡。
不過，如果是初學者，看到紅門後可能進不去哈哈哈

This gin bar is incredible. It is hidden behind a red door so make sure you remember otherwise it may be hard to find. The bar menu contains several different gin cocktails which are served in gin goblets. On a Saturday night it is easy enough to get a table and the music is played quietly so you can still have a conversation without shouting to your neighbour.
One of the strongest and best gin and tonic I’ve had. Interesting place!
A good place with old Hong Kong style decro to chill. Serves delicious Spanish tapas and a range of drinks but a bit pricy. Drinks and tapas around HKD100-200 each
A speakeasy bar with a noir hong kong style vibe. The bar is well-known its various Gin & Tonic recipes. Despite its local atmosphere, it is a Spanish bar as most of the G&Ts are made of Spanish gins and they serve tapas such as pulpo, Spanish omlet, and tomato breads. Worth visiting if you are traveling because the bar makes you feel like you are in hong kong, indeed. Just do not be surprised at how much you have to pay for that vibe.

Hidden gem – speakeasy bar in Sai Ying Pun neighborhood with a great selection of Gin Tonics. Located in a former ping-pong club, is unusually spacious for Hong Kong! Very enjoyable atmosphere, surely give it a try 😉
Nice GIN bar located in the neighbourhood area.
The entrance is very subtle and not easy to find. Once you are in, you will enjoy the 70’s interior. Reasonable price for drinks and food. However, the food was not warm enough.
My first “speak easy” bar in Hong Kong. If it wasn’t for my guide I wouldn’t have found this place at all. Gin is a signature of this establishment, so is highly recommended.
It’s hip and its gin delivers. The bartenders got swag.
Nice gin and chilling environment. Not suggested to go at weekends late night because you will never find a seat there. A bar worth visiting.
I went there with my full table-tennis gear and two other friends as my opponent and referee. We even brought the flipping scoreboard.

Great vibe and gin selection but overpriced and loud
Can here for a quick drink after dinner. Cocktails were great. Beautiful deco with high ceiling. Cosy and friendly staffs.
The decor – excellent, spacious, and well designed. Feels open and it has a good theme to it. Reasonably comfy chairs, especially in the back.
Drinks – more open to subjective taste, but I think my gin was nice. A bit pricey for the average student but not for the neighbourhood.
Food – actually spot on. The bread pudding was innovative, but what really stood out was those croquettes, oh how the temperature was perfect and the cheesy filling just melts in your mouth and runs down your throat. Definitely a must order.
High quality Spanish tapas and drinks. Pricey though. ie. 4 pieces of bread with tomato are 80HKD (it tastes incredibly good) but still is only that,.. bread with tomato.. Good if you have spare money, else better to only go later at night to enjoy the nice vibe and music with a gin and tonic.

An oldie but a goodie, here’s hoping Ping Pong 129 never leaves, shuts down or ever moves from its iconic Sai Ying Pun location. Such a fantastically designed and fun bar with amazing staff and ambiance. Anyone who loves a good gin & tonic and a good night out can not afford to miss this place when visiting Hong Kong. Say hi to Juan if you see him!
