Nice and fun.
Excellent. Dont tell anyone how good it is. It’s already hard enough to get a table!!
Great menu and wine selection. Staff were very friendly.
Super lovely fusion dishes and attentive staff 💕 great experience and will definitely go back …
Food is great! Chef is very creative and taste great as well! Strongly recommend 😄👍 …
Great spot in Sai Ying Pun, fantastic food (my wife is addicted to their Laksa prawn donuts!), great wine and even better service.
Was good. But I’ll have a upset stomach on the next day every time I go there.
Chef Gavin mixed up traditional Asian flavours with Western influences, and every bite is an explosion in your mouth. The service was also impeccable.
10/10 would visit again. In fact, already planned my next visit to their sister restaurant Pondi.
Brut! Is always delicious and guaranteed fun times. The wine selection is adventurous and the ethos of focusing on grapes and flavours over country of origin is one that I can get behind. Cami and the staff are really nice, and the service here is a cut above the rest. More importantly this is an independent restaurant that’s trying to make adventurous food with local ingredients. We have been many times and we will continue to patronise this establishment
Best neighborhood restaurant in Honk Kong. Mami, Gavin and staff nail what it means to be a local and fun restaurant. Suitable for a light snack and glass of wine or a big occasion. The team here are certainly ready to adapt to your needs. Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing experience: loved every single dish – broccoli (we had two of!), cod, kailan, chicken, sourdough bread with seaweed butter.. can’t recommend it enough!
Went here ages ago so some dishes may have changed.
Brut is on the other end of Second Street, away from the crowd but not so away.
You are greeted with two high tables and a long bar which makes it great dining alone with friends.
In this Modern era, it is all about clean living as well as clean drinking.
The drinks are definitely to brag about because Camille Lisette Glass at BRUT is a strong advocate of natural wine, hence the choice of all these natrual wines and their homemade Kombucha cocktails.
On the menu side, it is tapas-style offering a good variety on vegetarian and vegan options with fresh organic produce from the local Sai Ying Pun market to support the neighbourhood.
Not only that, the dishes have a multicultural twist of French, Spanish, American and Asian influences which will surprise your palate.
Amazing experience! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful!
Chef’s menu is simply a delight! All dishes are marvelous and all of them come with a twist!
Your taste buds will never forget this place!
Nice decor and vibe, and music was good but unfortunately a disappointing dining experience.
Food looked fairly promising from the other reviews / menu descriptions, but overall felt like the dishes tried a little bit too hard to be “interesting” at the expense of being actually tasty with well paired together flavours (the only exception was the sourdough bread & butter starter, that was delicious!)
Wine menu is fairly minimal, limited to New World wines. List is very briefly written on a blackboard behind the bar only, which can be hard to see if you’re sitting in the corner or not facing it directly. Mixed service – we had one great waiter who was was friendly and definitely knew his wine, but the other waitress that served us totally missed the mark several times, e.g. poured us a glass of wine and proceeded to tell us it was from a completely different area to the bottle label, amongst other comments. Given there is such limited information on the wines on the blackboard, would have appreciated slightly more (and ideally accurate) detail on the wines. I would not generally call this out, but if you’re claiming to be a wine bar, like BRUT is, you probably want to step up your game.
Overall, an average and overpriced dining experience. There’s plenty of great restaurants and wine bars in SYP so I would highly recommend going elsewhere.
Went on Thursday after recommendation. Ordered food and nothing came, although on bar seat in full view of staff and manager / owner. People either side of us eating, but staff didn’t question where food might be. After 45 minutes I asked where food was. We were told they hadn’t given order to kitchen. Was relaxed as these things can happen. After another 30 minutes food came but was incorrect order, so we left after almost an hour and a half. Cannot comment on food quality but really rare in HK to come across service like this. Strange.
Bold. Beautiful.
I love BRUT! Great food, lovely ambience but the best part of the experience are the staff! Very friendly, engaging and make you feel at home. I can’t wait to go back there again soon.
Food is excellent and the selection of wine incredible.
Really recommended place to go for dinner
Food was great! Service was excellent!
Brut! continues to delight. Their recent mac and cheese pop up menu is the ultimate comfort food and the staff couldn’t be more warm or inviting.
Omg very awesome place
The best.
It means the best restaurant in town.
Few visits to this bistro and hidden gem in Sai Ying Pun. Food and dishes choice are good.
Always have a great experience every time we’ve been here (which is more often than I care to admit) – the food and wine is amazing. But best of all are the staff. It is a restaurant and wine bar – not a pub. So adjust your expectations accordingly. But if that is your thing then it is definitely the place for you
Love their Asian-Western twist for the dishes, like the lemongrass, dashi broth, 老乾媽 chili sauce
Very generous portion especially lamb racks, perfect temperature
Ordered 2 small, 2 big, 1 dessert & 1 blt of red 2ppl to share, absolutely satisfied!!
The organic wine and the creative dishes make a perfect Friday dinner night with my husband! Love the cosy place and the gorgeous owner Camille! Highly recommended!
Brut! is exceptional … enough said
Great food but disappointing night from the rudest hostess. Her passive aggressiveness during dinner did not go unnoticed, specially her snide remark at the end. Shame on you. This is just one bad night out for us and many other places to support. U have really harmed this restaurants reputation. We were returning customers who will for sure not be back.
super small restaurant
Top class restaurant all round. Highly recommend to anyone.
Absolutely fabulous! The tasting menu was reasonably priced & delicious. The waitress suggested a great & very unique Rose which paired well with the whole tasting menu. 10/10 would recommend- already excited to go back.
Very innovative dishes and always surprising!!!
Everything about this place is exceptional, and that’s why I keep coming back here. The hospitality is impeccable; the food is amazingly scrumptious; and the wine selection is diverse. Overall: one of my favourite restaurants in HK, and I can’t wait to go back there again!
Great food – thank you to the chef. Quite strange service from the female (manager?). We were greeted with the words ‘we are still setting up’ at 7 minutes to 6. Fair enough – we waited outside. Even if you are setting up, perhaps a warm greeting and a smile wouldn’t go astray? The same person then appeared very disinterested in engaging in a discussion about the wine. This part of the conversation was quite transactional. Perhaps we should have been grateful for that part of the conversation, as she then managed to get into an argument with one of our guests about a request they made. Quite unusual for a hospitality person in HK to get into such an argument in my opinion. But the final rudeness was served up to us when dessert was served. There were two different bowls of dessert to be shared between 4 people. We were given 4 spoons. Because we didn’t want to exchange germs, we asked her for four dishes. She gave a little huff and then said ‘that’s not how we serve it’. Thankfully she thought better of it, and got us the plates before we needed to insist. Again, we loved the food, the wine was delicious, but sadly the service left a lot to be desired.
Tasty dishes but small in quantity. I probably should’ve ordered the entire menu. Great combination of flavours. Happy I got dessert 👍 …
Top notch food.. Cozy vibes and genuine service. Such a great find!
Very good experience.
A bit noisy but the place is nice, atmosphere is warm, staff very friendly & professional… of course: the food is awesome !
I recommend
Where is the 6-star option? First, the food is delicious. We loved every dish we ordered and the wine as well. Second, the staff create a warm, helpful atmosphere. The chef is creative, unpretentious and has a decided knack for ingenious combinations of ingredients that come off well. Will return. Heartily recommend you do as well.
Although the food was great, the service was definitely not…
Although the rest of the staff was nice, the woman behind the bar (where we were sitting), who seems to be chef de rang/manager, was quite rude. To be clear, I haven’t heard her say one “please” or one “thank you” until she put the bill in front of us (without us asking).
For starters, don’t show up early, because we arrived at 17:56 for a booking at 18:00 and we were asked to leave (without a “please” or “sorry”), so we had to wait outside under a threatening sky to begin with.
Then no one explained the concept to us but I assume the kitchen prepares all starters, then all mains, in a specific predefined order, because we ended up sitting there for 2 hours total (on very uncomfortable high stools), having to wait for a solid 30 min between dishes.
Like I said, the food was very good, but this kind of service ruins it and make it very unlikely for us to recommend the place.
Loved the food; literally every dish on the menu was incredible and left you thinking: wow, that has unexpectedly blown me away
Exceptional on all grounds. Food, service, ambience were spot on. Natural wine list was on fire. My peers were picky and knowledgeable wine drinkers, they were happy with the selection of both by glass and by the bottle. Chef Gavin’s take on incorporating Asian and local flavors to western execution was both refreshing and interesting. Menu changes from time to time depending on what’s in season. All in all, great dining experience. Will go back soon. Thanks Brut team 🙂
One of our favourites in all of Hong Kong where food is consistently great matched by equally good plating & presentation. Wine pairing is excellent – always a delight to dine here

Amazing dining experience. Fresh ingredients, amazing wine selection, friendly staff and exceptional service. Would definitely come back!
we had a very pleasant night, will definitely come back again.
phenomenal
Cozy place with hip ambiance. Maybe had too much of an expectation – some of the flavours were a bit too unique for me.
Sichuan Tiger Prawn, Pickled Ginger, Bisque Sabayon
Brussels Spouts, Radish, whipped ricotta
Harissa Roasted Cauliflower, Mint Gel, Apricot Tahini
Lamb Rack, Hung Yoghurt, Lao Gan Ma
Hanger Steak, Coffee by Fine Print, Soy Cured Egg York
Torched calamari, Smoked Miso and Pomelo, black garlic puree
Roquefort Mac & Cheese
