A classic beef noodles shop on High Street competing with a lot of new cafe and restaurant. The beef brisket is really good that you should have a try. Price is still setting for the neighbor and you will find it value of money.

懷舊情懷香港麵店, 門外已飄溢著香港的牛腩湯味, 不過今天想試試它的叉燒湯米, 點餐時服務員會細心的問你 : 要不要葱
端上來的碗不算很大, 可是裡面卻盛滿了食物, 尤其是叉燒很多片, 雖然叉燒不是烤得乾身的那種, 不過肉質是偏瘦卻軟淋, 而且略帶甜味, 因為份量都比較多, 最後我都不能把它吃完 ~
很親切的一家店。你可以選擇寬麵條或細麵條,但如果你不確定,他們會告訴你真正的麵條。這在香港也是很少見的炒雲面,但是非常好吃。
這是一次艱難的攀登,但這是值得的!

Local stuff really good
This is an old noodle shop which is known for self-made barbecued pork, ox brisket, fried wanton. Tried the ox brisket noodle which tasted quite good, but I doubted if this was fresh ox brisket. Noodle texture was good & not over-cooked. There are however better choices for sure.
Good food and good taste. Price not inexpensive.
Discovered this joint when I was going to some restaurant on High Street.
Out of curiosity I looked at the reviews on this place and the roast pork looked good so I went there.
If it had not been photos of the roast pork I would not have considered going there because I am not fond of wonton noodles.
The décor was old as expected with interesting lights and the staff were much nicer than anticipated.
There is no English menu and it doesn’t really tell you there are other noodle choices apart from wonton noodles.
Anyway ordered the roast pork and fried wonton noodles.
When it came, they looked like Singaporean style Chinese wonton noodles.
The pork was the most disappointing because it was fatty pork neck meat in the form of roast pork with a coloured edge.
As well as the pork I didn’t like the soapy tasting noodles and the crispy wontons were cold but still crispy!
I have been visiting this noodle joint for many many years. Its the best place for noodles in HK!!!! My favourite is cha siu thin noodle. Friendly little neighborhood joint!

Came here for the first time today. When looking from outside, it’s just a little neighborhood joint. But the soup is to die for and the beef brisket is cooked right on point. And the owner saw that I enjoyed the soup so she poured me another bowl… I will definitely come back.
The noodles are with good quality. The beef brisket is its specialty.

西營盤高街舊式麵店,名字“英記”,是一間與傳統不同的, 他們的雲吞是炸的,所以是放湯食.另有一種味道.另外最出名的自家製的“叉燒”,每位食客都會叫叉燒雲吞麵,叉燒牛腩麵,所以下次我都要嘗試“叉燒”

I know this place been around for awhile. But on this visit my beef offal + fried fish noodles $52 was just ok.
Beef offal was comparable to many other places. Noodles were Al dente. However fried fish soaked in broth is a no no for me as they became soggy over time.
Didn’t think my meal was that exceptional.
Back to basic. A very local wonton restaurant in Sai Ying Pun! The beef was really tender and the soup was enough to make us warm! 47hkd per noodle.

I ordered the char siu and four kind combos. The char siu was surprisingly very good in its way. Is a very meaty char siu that doesn’t seems to have any fat at all. Yet is not rough and dry at all, easy to chill but still got the meaty chewing texture. The aroma of the pork itself is good, the more you chew the more the flavour is filling up in your mouth.
Deep fried wonton was another surprise! Is not the tea house dim sum type but the noodles shop wonton that mixed pork and prawn roe in it, is new for me and I love it!
Soup base could be better, chilli oil is okay.

懷舊的雲吞麵家, 出色的炸雲吞是必吃之選, 牛腩 望落都好吸引下次會試
老字號的「英記」,我第一次幫襯,却原來有許多熟客,甫坐下便不停有食客及外賣客內進。我不知原來叉燒及雲吞是招牌菜,反而在門口見牛雜不錯而點了它,幸好牛雜也不差。下次要試試招牌菜,今次見剛入座的女士叮囑伙計要淨上湯雲吞,不要炸的雲吞,於是伙計即時從雪櫃取出鮮雲吞來淥,原來「英記」的雲吞是炸了的,又學到嘢了。

這是一家兒時常去的麵店,自從搬走咗就好少來哩頭食嘢!上星期咁好正正係佢門口落車😀就隨腳入去找找以前感覺!
店內的装修依然係咁古老、清簡,衛生嘛就麻麻,周圍黐立!黏黏的~
但係唔會影響我對撈麵的食慾!
本人覺得佢d撈麵好香口,蠔油都係撈麵的靈魂之一,佢哋個蠔油味道鮮美、蠔香濃郁,黏稠適度!牛腩燉得非常軟嫩,但又不會失去牛肉的鮮甜與口感,某些麵店的撈麵,鹼水味太重,連湯頭都會苦得喝不下,但英記d麵完全沒有這個問題,彈性足、勁道夠,與湯頭搭配十分合拍!very good !
A small place with only 5 tables. Very friendly service. Price is reasonable.
We have the beef noodles. The beef is very tender . We also have deep fried wonton. It tastes great. Would be great if they use less msg.
