New location after the closure of old store at Heaven Street in CWB. More seating provided here. Things change but quality remains.
One of the most relaxed places for coffee in Hong Kong. Was sad when they left causeway Bay but am glad they found a permanent home in Sheung Wan. The owners are some of the best people. Friendly and inviting with amazing coffee.

The coffee here is well made, and I’m impressed that they have macadamia milk – not easy to find in this city! However, coffee is quite overpriced for the small size they serve. The outside seating area that they have is cute but the smoke from cigarette smokers wafted straight into the entire cafe – there’s no way to avoid this with the layout of the place as it stands. We left because we felt smothered with secondhand smoke; the cafe should have a better setup so all customers can enjoy the coffee that they serve. Won’t be returning, which is a shame as the concept itself is great.

Amazing boss
There is a lot to like about elixir. The coffee shop has a cool vibe and nice design. Care is taken to prepare each patrons cup of coffee. On appearance the cappuccino I had was on point. It had a nice thin layer of foam and had a nice brown tint mixed in with the milk. However, the taste was too thin for my liking and the espresso really didn’t make its way thorough. I likely would have been better off ordering a piccolo.

Really enjoyed the coffee here and the whole vibe. Nice place to chill for a coffee on the weekend. Nice neighborhood, animal friendly, and just an overall wholesome place for a coffee.
除左深水埗有好多咖啡店之外，中上環亦有好多選擇，呢間【Elixir】一直係我Bucket List裏面，主打灰白格調，立刻被整個氛圍吸引，看得很舒服。呢日得自己一個，坐下慢慢思考想點的咖啡，店鋪的貓貓活潑地在店裏游走著，感受一下難得的寧靜。
點左一杯Latte同Earl Grey Scone，聽聞呢度既Scone不錯，一場黎到點都要試下！特別中意咖啡杯質感，Latte奶泡幼滑，不過咖啡味可以更香濃。相反，Scone幾有驚喜，伯爵味好突出，味道芳香而清幽，亦唔會做到好鬆散，真係幾唔錯。

This would be a 4 if the seating was better. It’s a very awkward layout. I think it’s meant for a quick drink and leave. My tonic espresso was…interesting. It’s a basic themed coffee shop as I am now starting to frequently see the white marble themed coffee shops every where. Go try out for yourself!
A quaint, no-frills cafe with efficient service and good coffee. Love that there’s no wifi, so there’s never people on laptops, just people drinking coffee and having conversation. You can sit on the steps outside and hang out with the resident kitty Charlie.

At first sight, the place looks nice but have been very disappointed by the service. I rarely express my discontent but the barista was barely responding to us. It’s the last time we visit this cafe.

Bad experience on a cute place in a cozy street. What a pitty.
We wanted to go there as it has a terrace in which we wanted to chill. But it’s a place full of rules that will change your mood. Not that the rules are bad or that they are unfair. It is the employees job to translate the owners directions so nor is for them to blame on the what, but on the manners. There are always better ways to do things and enforce rules.
1. You have to order one drink per person… Okey… May make sense but the push makes it uncomfortable when you seek to have a chill time with a book. I went with my wife, who did not felt like having any coffee just some matcha or tea. But they didn’t have much choice. “Buy something, or take away”
2. We had gone to the cutest place for cakes which is just in the corner next to elixir. Elixir does not offer cakes and we wanted to still enjoy their coffee and their terrace so bought it out in a separate place but no trying to buy something out which they would offer (that would be avoided from start). When we finally sat down and wanted to enjoy the cake with coffee (see picture of the cake which is not from there). They told us we can’t eat it there. Again the rule only sounds fair, but not like we were in a situation in which such application of the rule made sense. A warning would have been equally understood. But our breakfast was completely ruined.
Rules are to be enforced but it’s a coffeeshop not the ministry of health. So in any other situation in which you see a happy couple going to enjoy their terrific cake, in the nice spot, very early in the morning when there is not even other people, with their brewed coffee, the answer should be: “guys please note that we don’t allow external food in here, please do not do it again as it could create precedent to other customers and play against the business”. So fair and we would have rushed to finish the cake, put it away, and continue with our coffee.
There is a level of arrogance in some of these cool cafes around the city in which they believe to be above the rest of us, which is not appreciated.
I don’t speak solely about elixir. But they are definitely among those.
And last but not least, overpriced in any measure.
Love the honeycomb latte. I usually get a hot one. It has a strong taste and slight sweetness on the top of the latte. Has a very thick and smooth texture also.
Average at best.
I wanted to like this little spot, location works and could be a nice oasis in a quiet neighborhood but let down desperately by poor service attitude. One particular hipper than thou waitress couldn’t muster basic courtesy or manners to explain their short handed hipster menu or speak to guests in a welcoming tone, but instead chose to bark instructions from behind the counter. Hint: when someone asks you what you mean, increasing the volume of your voice doesn’t make it clearer, rather you should try and explain your unclear instructions differently. Thankfully there’s no shortage of good coffee places nowadays in HK so absolutely no loss to give this place a miss.

A small cosy coffee shop in soho area, the shop front is pretty subtle so you may easily miss it. Coffee is great but not a lot of seatings available.
The coffee is ok but my friend ordered hot chocolate and it was boiling hot / the staff wasn’t welcoming

Great cafe in a buzzing area. Modern and artsy atmosphere, and they do have small exhibitions of emerging artists on site. Friendly people, and yes, the coffee is great too ☕️

The time when I went there (around 13:00), there’s not much customers (only three groups of customer), it’s not busy at all.
The atmosphere is chilled and quiet, pretty nice place to take a short break, have your book with you and enjoy some reading.
I had a tonic cold brew, personally the coffee was mild for me, not an impressive one but still room for improvement. I also tried the butter scone, they will warm it up for you, which is a plus. It’s very buttery, and moist inside, can give it a try if you’re craving for something to company with your black coffee. BUT if you hate sth oily, or you’re on diet… Definitely not recommended. Comparing the price with the quality of coffee and food, it’s slightly pricey. There are better choices around that area but if you would like to have a piece of silence, enjoy your reading with a cup of coffee, it’s a choice for u. Nearby (2mins walk) has an area called PMQ, nice to walk around there then have a short break here.

Love the coffee here. Ordered a double espresso for 35HKD; a bit on the expensive side but worth paying because it is so good 👍🏻👍🏻. There’s also a clean washroom to use if you happen to need one.

My wife wanted quick coffee and i didnt feel like any beverages at that moment, we go refused to sit inside since there is a minimum of one item per person. Also to mention the venue was completely empty and she rather let us sit outside in the rain then inside!
