Very spacious venue and very attentive staff. Good selection on the menu also, but they couldn’t serve smoothie when I went cos their blender was broken.
Good place to get a coffee & work from, but the food is extremely mediocre, to the point where it tastes so bad that you physically can’t finish it… also too pricey for what it is. This place is also freezing, why turn down the AC unnecessarily low? Impossible to enjoy your food when you’re shivering. This seems to be a common theme across the common ground franchise…
Frequent visitor to this location which has lots of space and ample seating. This location is great for brunch on the weekends. The food is high quality and the service is great.
Also lots of space to chill and get some work done.
Super lovely location, loads of space and gorgeous decor. I had the Hokkaido soft serve and my friend had the affogato. Happy faces all around.

Elephant Grounds is a chain of specialty coffee shops founded in 2013 that has spread its wings to China and the Philippines. The 7,000 square feet Hollywood Road branch is its local flagship and features a roastery and artisan bakery. The brunch choices are pretty decent and I was more than satisfied with the Fish Fillet Sando (breaded sole katsu, cabbage & wasabi mayo,
fries with furikake mayo) for $120. They also serve cold-pressed juices and the Mango Tango (mango, carrot, orange, ginger, coconut water, turmeric) was ok. What also stands out besides the space and food is the availability of power sockets that make this a great place to work-from-cafe. The service is above average too.
I’ve visited this place many times though today I felt compelled to leave a review. The beef hash literally tasted like I was eating cat food. Truly terrible dish. The almond croissant was lovely otherwise I would have rated 2/10.
International vibe. I had a Shakshuka and a Latte – I’d rate both the Latte and the Shakshuka 2/5 compared to what I’ve had elsewhere.

It’s a nice big space. However, a lot of things are bad:
Staff are very slow and got my order wrong.
The pulled pork eggs Benedict is 120 dollars for just ONE egg and some meat. It’s not that tasty and definitely overpriced.
Get the salmon eggs Benedict, comes with two eggs instead.
Staff should really inform that significant information.
Spacious brunch-coffee place that has an outdoor seating area where you can chill with your pet

Would not recommend ordering food at Elephant Grounds here. A friend ordered the pulled pork benedict, and it being at least $100, you’d think they’d at least give you two Benedicts, but noooo… They only plated one – one English muffin with spinach, pulled pork and a soft-boiled egg. What a rip-off! He had looked over at another table who had the salmon eggs Benedict and saw that there were two Benedicts on one plate. What kind of restaurant or cafe does this? When you think “Eggs Benedict”, you think of a pair, right? If they were only going to serve one, then they should at least charge for only one! The caveat is that the environment is spacious and pleasant for catching up with friends (albeit it is freezing inside in the summertime because of the AC, so bring a jacket if you get cold easily). My two-cents: go for the drinks and pastries, but skip the savory dishes.

Big fan of this place, feels like a hipster café one would find in a trendy city in the US, good food (especially muesli with milk for breakfast, never seen that on my travels before and a very welcome familiar thing!)

• Very Hong Kong style service. Zero engagment with customers. Members of staff did not communicate unless they were spoken to. I didn’t learn anything that I didnt already know about the company or culture during my visit
• Staff did not attempt to maximise any sale, many sales opportunities were missed
• The service style & patterns used were beyond basic. Missing many minor tasks such as removing excess glasses from the tables that were clearly not in use
• Staff were not using zoning technique to equally spread the team around the floor. This meant that customers had to make extra effort for ordering etc. This happened multiple times during the visit

I used to come here almost every day, but never again. I just paid $230 for 2 coffees and a cup of oats. If it was amazing I would be ok with new prices, but it wasn’t.
Matcha latte arrived luke warm, almost cold. Overnight oats were very bland, and arrived in a glass that’s not worth $90 + service tax. And lastly they blast the aircon very hard, so people don’t stay too long.
I give 2 stars because the space is very nice and has Wi-Fi. Everything else today was average and disappointing.

Berry Yogurt Granola
Horrible food and terrible service with not fair price and service charge. Sorry there was no service. Waitress was very very cold and left all dishes outside on each table didn’t clean up. Asked her help clean up she acted as if I asked her to move an elephant. I used to like the elephant grounds brunch and coffee in Wanchai. But the Sheung Wan one is really like really disappointing.

係上環果邊唔知食咩好就搵左elephant ground，有outdoor seating，入面好多學生都係到溫書，而且地方都幾大，如果for chill的話建議坐outdoor。坐底叫左兩款食物同飲品，不過不失但有更好既選擇。

Amazing place for working out of. There is plenty of seating, free wifi, and an outlet by almost every table. However, the drinks and food are very expensive and food is average. There are pastries in the front as well.

Staff is great! and coffee tastes awesome (this EG is also placed in a very bright spot of the city). Only reasons why I don’t put 5 stars are: the tiring hip-hop background music (everyday is the same), and the scarce low-carb food options (everything has fries, bread, rice or something sweet). Oh, was forgetting one bonus: some tables have a chess board on them, so you can request the pieces and play! UPDATE: seems hip-hop music is gone today yay! they just playing Tame Impala now so I’m upgrading my review to 5stars!

Good location and space, but horrible service and mediocre food. The service was extremely unwelcoming, like the staff didn’t want us to be there or bother them with anything.
Good cafe to work at although food is average. Main complaint is service is horrible – specifically the 2 English speaking girls. I’m a regular here and I’m always met with apathy and on occasion, hostility. They act like I’m inconveniencing them when I ask for anything: asked for Wi-Fi password, made me walk all the way to the board when they obviously know it; was met with extremely slow walking and black face when I asked for water or for them to wipe down the table; had only sit down for 5 mins when one of them came over with a menu and passive aggressively said ‘you gonna order something?’ I said, give me some time, she said ‘you already had time’, but she had just handed me the menu at this moment? Have never heard them say thank you once every time I ordered coffee. These were all separate occasions. Makes me not want to support EG. But the other staff are lovely
