Went on Christmas Eve. Great prices given everywhere else has marked up. Everyone ordered the corn tempura but that wasn’t really special.

Appalling!!! Stood for almost an hour while having our bottle of wine. When asked the usher why all these people came in after us already seated? He told us (fiercely) “you just came in! these people booked from weeks ago!!” Wow! What a great customer service!!

Yakitori is amazing and love their Caesar cocktail (can’t find many of these in HK). Love the staff, music, vibe- doesn’t get much better than Yardbird
My fave restaurant in hk. I would go every night if I could. Can’t decide if I love the corn fritters or KFC or the chicken skewers most. Eating there makes me ridiculously happy!

基本上就是個酒吧，所以音樂比較吵，不推薦喜歡安靜的人。
一根串大約1萬韓幣，吃多了會很累。
但是，我嘗試過的所有菜單都不僅僅是基本的，所以我很滿意。

Great place, with a good vibe! Especially the front area felt more like a bar, with lots of groups standing around. Loved the skewers which were served one by one (unless ordering the same type twice). Definitely try the ume thigh and the famous meatball! Salads were nice too on the side, and they have a good selection of Sake. Some skewers do sell out, so better to come early, and make a reservation!

Chicken Wing Thigh Yakitori
We will definitely be back, also shout out to Hong who took great care of us over dinner.
My partner and I dined here on Tuesday 25/April/23 and we had a great experience. Good atmosphere, great vibes and most of all great food and drinks. Quality yakitori and sides. While the yakitori are all priced per stick, note that some of the other dishes can be ordered per piece (e.g. corn tempura which comes as a set of 4, can order a half serve).
Highlight of the night was the half serve (could have easily gone for a full serve) of the chicken and egg rice.
We made a booking for 8pm and by then, 3 yakitori had already sold out. If you have time, try walking in earlier or trying to secure an earlier booking.
Bill came up to HKD 1890 for 2, including drinks. We were very full.
Chic and trendy place for chicken lovers. If you do not like loud music you should ask to sit closer to the entrance.

I had an amazing experience at Yardbird. They got something really special going on there. Food’s great, drinks are awesome. They got things you won’t find anywhere else. You can’t go wrong here.
And most importantly, people there are insanely kind and passionate. A most special thank you to Stefan, Yuri, and the whole team. Thanks for keeping it real and making a difference. Doing things the right way. No shortcuts.
I’ll definitely be back. All the best to you guys.

Price-wise, yakitori here is a bit higher than usual, but it was still delicious. Portions may look small, but when you order a whole bunch of stuff and share it with others, it will definitely come to a point where you’ll start to get full. A lot of the yakitori we tried were flavorful and perfectly smoky, and there’s also a great selection of drinks you can enjoy with the yakitori. Great service and atmosphere, especially in the evenings regardless if it’s a weekday or not. Would go back to try the other stuff on the menu.

5 年前我在中環時就喜歡它。
好久沒來了，氣氛好像變了。（變年輕了？）
我認為飯後吃點零食或喝點飲料是可以的。
我還不夠餓，不能吃烤串……也覺得漲價了。尤其是highball，喝起來一點也不像酒精。

The yakitori was great, service was excellent (was served by a short lady, she explained the menu well for us, gave us free shichimi sachet as gift as well). Recommend the ume and inner thigh, oyster and meatball. As for sides, the tomato salad and fried cauliflower is lovely. Nice place to hangout with friends. Downside is the exorbitant price… but overall great experience

But, why is it Michelin 1-star? 🤔 Overhyped w/ 1-star service. First try and may not return..
Though their yakitori made with various body parts of a chicken may be rare in the local dining scene, the taste did not wow us, and I believe that there are many more kushiyakis in HK with similar or even better offerings.
We were instead taken aback by their poor service. We were the first on the waiting list only to know that another party behind us had been arranged seats before we were. It was because not all of our party was present, which was understand, but which we had not been informed of; staff didn’t even ask when our companions would arrive. Not a great start of a night, but service throughout the meal was just as uncool. Staff picked up our plates one second they were emptied – efficient as you may call it, but we found it stressful and too much in a hurry.
Food was alright, we liked the [ chicken meatballs ] and [ clams yaki soba ] in particular. However, not recommended for people who dislike cracking your voice amid loud music, and people who value service at a restaurant.

Years after visiting, I still direct all my friends going to HK to indulge this restaurant. Wonderful staff.
