Great restaurant serving small dishes of chicken basically, mainly as yakitori/skewers but also offering a great variety of cocktails and Japanese whiskey collection. Quite trendy and can have long queues.

Do yourself a favor and go to Yardbird. Here is a summary. Drinks are incredible and food is amazing. This place would be a hit anywhere.

Very popular, always busy. Menu is simple and clean cut. The yakitori sticks I ordered were: chicken skin / inner thigh / wing. YUM.
Came here 2 years ago when Yardbird was at their previous location – was not impressed by the pricey chicken parts (HKD45 for a skewer of 4 pieces of chicken skin, each the size of my fingernail) & would have rated 1 star.
Decided to revisit at their new location to check in on the craze 2 years later. 3 of us went on a Thurs night around 7.30pm and waited about 40mins for a table. Restaurant doesn’t take reservations so best to come at their opening time around 6pm. Was directed to a standing area in the restaurant where you can get a drink while waiting so we finished a bottle of wine.
The clams yaki soba was gooood – clams were big and juicy & the sauce was interesting, not your usual carbonara/cream sauce. We also had the chicken & egg rice (can skip), sweet corn tempura (yums), meatballs (served with a side of egg yolk) & some other chicken part skewers (small portion sizes).
Noise level was high so a rather casual off-work kind of setting. At times difficult to get the attention of service staff tho there were quite a bit of them walking around.
Super delicious! Everything was amazing: skins sell out quickly. Worth the steep price.
The location is not as good as before( was a smaller place in Sheung Wan). But the food quality remains the same. Pity the good vibe is gone. But I would come back again for the food. Nice place for gathering.
Personally think this bar is over rated. Good is expensive for what you get. Service is always very good though.
I was in a large group so the wait staff was very attentive. Food was good and various courses were served within minutes from each other. They also have a good drink menu and a very upbeat and modern feel to the restaurant.
Delicious modern take on Japanese yakitori. The chicken meatballs are excellent, as is the katsu sandu. Cocktail list is extensive and beer list is long. A little bit too pricy given the size of the portions though.

Food was good. Trendy place. Very pricey.
Rocked up with 16 people, having warned the hostess there might be a party of 9. Absolutely brilliant accommodating us (luckily it was a Tuesday) and the food was awesome. HK$2,000 in G&T between us though, so not a cheap night out. However I really recommend it to anyone.
This place is one of may favourites.
The spacious location is great for some superb cocktails.
The food was fantastic as always and the staff where on the ball. Some of the best service I have had in Hong Kong.

Great for drinks and small plates
We started off with a crunchy and refreshing eggplant salad then various yakitori which were really yumz! The shiso ume thigh and tsukune with this magical egg yolk dip were among my fave, but the fried (chicken skin) rice was the best and probably the most sinful. Ended with KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) that taste almost like chicken….perhaps more so after a drink or two 😉
香港最潮串燒店！位處上環卻相當火熱，串燒火力恰到好處、調味很有水準，店內氣氛很好，來香港除了港式餐廳以外的選擇，值得一去！

Pleasant enough atmosphere, but would rather call it a bar with expensive yakitori rather than a restaurant
First tried their pop up at NoMad hotel in NYC before dinner in their HK restaurant. The KFC, duck fried rice, live mousse and yakitori are all firm favourites. Great service too from very knowledgeable staff.

Yardbird is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in HK. They have options for Yakitori as well as salad, appetisers and tens of options of Highball, beer and Japanese whiskey. Mostly importantly, they can add rocks or mizuwari to your uneshu!
Our first dinner in Hong Kong. Firstly, stepping in the great vibe and abuzz yet elegant atmosphere instantly are a big plus. The concept is totally great. We tried most of the chicken parts- the highlight being the super melt-in-your-mouth Liver- it is the best I have had anywhere. It would be something I would travel back for. The second was the meatballs with egg yolk which in itself is such an indulgent idea – and made so well. From the other menu of limited small/ big plated we tried the pork sandwich which was just right in all ways including portions, with the pork cutlet being the highlight in thin slices of bread. The seaweed salad was quite unique too. All in all a great experience that included great food first with all other peripherals matching up. A great option for a night out in HK.
清酒陣容是獨一無二的，Hibiki Nika 威士忌按年份儲存。他們自己釀造和銷售清酒（寄售），質量還不錯。尤其是蛤蜊燒蕎麥麵真的很好吃。但是，價格偏高。不後悔考慮價格。一些好人來了。老婆瘋了哈哈
The food is delicious, but the atmosphere is a little noisy and the price is much more expensive than I expect from foods. so I will not recommend my friends.

Great atmosphere and food! The sweet potato amber ale was particularly memorable. Food was a little on the small side however there are plenty of tasty items on the menu. I liked the meatball, chicken ventricle and the asparagus with onsen egg.
This does get busy so expect to wait unless you have a booking.
Lives up to its fantastic reputation. All chicken and other dishes were superb. Great selection of drinks. I’m already planning my next visit.
Great food great staff.
Try their katsu sando (fried pork cutlet sandwich) and the chicken meat balls. They are amazing.
The new location is so roomy and a great design. The food is still as great as ever.
Unbelievably great food and experience!
The quality of their yakitori and other bigger bites are always consistently good. Their gizzard and ‘oyster’ yakitori are the best. Ordered their special clam yakisoba this time, and is best dish of the night.
Their liver mousse (with milk bread and crispy shallot) is a must order, a great appetizer.
Other signature yakitori: chicken meatball (with tare and egg yolk) // ume thigh // chicken knee
I love their chicken skin fried rice and corn tempura, although for these non-yakitori dishes i feel like it’s too expensive, still worth a try though.
Atmosphere is comfortable and relatively spacious when not too busy. Staff are fun and welcoming to talk to!
Delicious food and great service.
Really, really good. I wasn’t totally excited by going out for yakitori but had heard lots of good things – and I’m so glad we went! EVERYTHING we had was delicious – miso breast, neck, wing… I tried some of the more daring parts like ventricle and was pleasantly surprised (though my faves were probably the wing and breast!). Also the fried chicken and gyoza with tofu skin were both really tasty. Plus the vibe was really fun! Lots of space, low but warm lighting and a really friendly and helpful variety of staff. Would go again!

氣氛、服務和食物都很棒。
There is no reservation accepted so be prepared to wait outside of the restaurant if you don’t arrive when it opens at 6pm. Food and service are consistently good but you have to put up with rules like no seating until your entire group is present at the restaurant. The other reason for coming early is that popular items will sell out within an hour after opening.
Never disappoints. Mindful service, great food, cheap drinks. Get the meatballs with tare, thyroid, inner thigh, tempura corn.
