Japanese yakitori with a bar, if you’re looking for a place to have a second-meal over some drinks, this place would be great. The price is a bit too high, and the food service was rather slow.
Great food and services! The dishes were really good specially the KFC(Korean Fried Cauliflower) ! I don’t even like eating cauliflower but as it was a signature dish, I gave it a try. The sweet spicy sauce and the crust really surprised me.I don’t think I’ve ever had something like it before! It was really good! The staff were friendly and they gave us some really good recommendations. The service was efficient as well. It ‘d be perfect if they take reservations, still worth the wait though!
Absolutely fantastic! You can’t really find any other Yakitori place in Hong Kong that has all the things Yardbird has to offer. It’s the total package. Amazing food, drinks, service and vibe.
The service was good and the food was incredible. A bit expensive but it is more than made up for.
Worth the char grilled flavour. The chicken wing tip is something new I never tried, and it’s great!
The corn ball is also very good and surprisingly not clumpy. But I would prefer to save the stomach for more grilled food.
Great atmosphere, feels like a bar!
Amazing food and drinks. Impeccable service.
Simply best yakitori in Hong Kong, even comparable to the ones I had in Osaka and Tokyo, superb quality food and excellent service.
Yakitori and cocktails are spectacular🤤
(first post-vaccine dinner…safe &
secure, relatively😅) …
Favorite yakitori place in town. All the skewers are amazing, you will not go wrong with whatever you order. My personal favorites are the meatball, une thigh, thigh, breast… And the corn balls.
Don’t torture yourself about whether to go: it’s a must try! Everything was delicious, the yakitori but all the sides alike. The cooking and flavors were memorable – such as the service, big up to Mike.
Was here a while ago. Food was good, might of had to big an explanation. Value for money was not 100% and were sold out of a lot of things I wanted by the time I got there
Absolute triumph, I went with a big Happy Valley group, I was expecting very little for vegetarians. Turns out I was wrong. The sake was perfect for our food, the Korean fried cauliflower was my favourite sticky, crispy coated soft but spicy inner cauliflower, next favourite is the Brussel sprouts, followed by the mushroom rice, lots of pickles, all finished with a great popcorn ice-cream. My HV friends loved the place. A must visit. Great service by Kenneth, Sum and Radhika. Expect to pay good money, it is an expensive night out. Cannot understand why the restaurant would not celebrate, promote and even develop its veggie dishes as they are fantastic and deserve more menu space.
It’s been a while that I’ve had service so bad that I felt compelled to write a review. Second time at yardbird and I did enjoy it the first time. This time was a different story. I get to my table, wait 5 mins looking around and had to flag down a waiter for water (even though there were 5 standing idly around). Wait another 5 mins and had to ask for the menu. Food came in increments of 15 mins, 2 appetizers came before the drinks, mains before all the skewers, just a weird order. 2 of us dropped ~$1400 so it wasn’t like we were cheap. Every time it was hard to flag a waiter down even though the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. The last straw was when we got our change, it was thrown on the table without even a thanks for coming.
The food is fine but not spectacular, liver mousse, heart, gizzard and KFC were good. The rice cakes were really hard and should be missed. Did enjoy the ice cream sandwiches.
在上環享負盛名的Yakitori, 唯一有點麻煩是不能訂坐,但是一等一的好店。來上環吃飯的不二之選
A trendy yakitori place with great cocktails!
1 Michelin star for a yakitori place is pretty impressive! And the food doesn’t disappoint. Never did, does, nor ever will.
Like the corn tempura, ume yakitori and meatball. KFC was really interesting too, tasted like the real Korean fried chicken but with cauliflower. Service was good. Very interesting yakitori overall with delicious flavours. Visit recommended if you are thinking. Giving this a 4 largely because personally thought delicious but not compelling enough to make me want to go back again.
Great food! Highly recommend esp. the oyster and Achilles! I heard that a chicken only has two pieces of the oyster… Very tender and juicy! Clean (ventilation was so good that I left without smelling like smoke) and comfortable (very spacious seating). The waitress was very sweet and definitely knew how to recommend items catered to our taste! If you’re confused about the skewers definitely ask them for help!
Must try the oyster, tender and very juicy!
Ask try the neck and thyroid, sounds weird but they sold out early.
I love the sweetcorn ball and Korean bbq style cauliflower, doesn’t taste like veggie at all! 😋
Good service, amazing food.
Their signature “meatball” is very good.
Yardbird is known for its yakitori cuisine. The dishes are small and the place is kind of expensive (500hkd per person) but I always find the experience to be phenomenal.
Order the meatballs, the fried cauliflower and the corn 🌽 dish. Those are all very popular and different from what you will ever taste anywhere else.
This place is perfect for occasions as it has a great vibe. First date /anniversary/ Sophisticated night out with friends.
Nice ambience. Good food. Friendly staff
Thyroid yakitori and sweet corn tempura are quite special, but others are just all right
Great Yakitori. My favorite is the corn and chicken skin. the best grilled chicken skin i have ever had. the meat ball is a bit too salty so the egg dip does not need the sauce with it. still good though. Great service received here. food comes out quick.
Nice foods and service
Food was pretty good!!!Though it’s very hard to book a table
Service and food was good but it was generally overpriced, $45 per meatball, so that is already around 200 when our family ordered 4 meatballs to start with. It is all a la carte, no sets to select.
Pretentious and overpriced. Then at close lots of drunk people spill out into the street shouting and screaming and breaking social distancing laws and not moving on. Avoid
Fraud. Double charged twice at Yardbird. For $1.167. Horrible service, food was good. But this is fraud and should not be forgiven. I’m on the call with American Express now sorting it out.
屬於較為貴價既串燒,當中雞蠔,雞胸,雞尾同髀肉燒得較好食。炸栗米球個炸漿開得好好👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 地方乾淨食得同飲得開心。 …
Good food and drinks special soup very refreshing
Music too loud m good a little bit in pricey siss
One of my favourite restaurants in Hong Kong so far, great vibe and delicious food. Service was very good also. The bill does rack up and it certainly was not a cheap meal, but totally worth it.
部份都好食,但無想像中咁正
Food was absolutely delicious, meat was really juicy and flavorsome. Staff was helpful and professional, would definitely come back here in the near future.
Good food, quite pricey
Yakitori at it’s best. Flavor, presentation, ambience, service, all top notch. There is no doubt why this resto is Michelin 1 star recommended. Chicken wings and meat balls, seemingly simple dishes, will wow and surprise you with exquisite flavor and texture. Excellent attentive but unobtrusive service makes it perfect catching up with friends or business meetings. Highly recommended.
For this price and environment I expect better food. Have tried many yakitori places in HK and Japan. The food here is lacking personality. Good meat quality but plain. Didn’t bring out the flavor. However, the ice cream sandwich is really good. The balance of the salty caramel and sweet soft ice cream is so perfect.
4/5
That hard work and heart making all this good level of delicious skewers. Also have amazing small dishes too!
The katsu sando is the best sandwich on the planet .
顧客多 頗擠逼 食物 酒水 招呼都不錯 但疫情期日不會常去
A bit pricy but worth every penny. Must try – oyster, wings and meatballs yakitori. But the sando & KFC for me was the best ! You can probably skip the fish.
Too expensive for the amount of food, imo. It is good but not thaaaaat good. Not cosy either, almost entire restaurant consists of high stools.
Pretty good yakitori, one of the better ones in Hong Kong but not the place you would really go for the food. It’s more suited for customers who prefer drinks & party than food.
Prices quite high. I ordered the gizzard, deep fried chicken fillet chicken soup was ok but not as rich.
吃雞好去處
Quite a nice experience, the food is undoubtedly very good. The meatball skewers were very tasty as was the frid rice. That spicy seasoning is awesome! I stole all the packets i found in the bill! Overall very nice, a bit pricey.
Busy Japanese skewer restaurant, better make reservation. It is a cosy place. Kick start with highball. It is a limited version with shake Shack is 50-50 instead of soda. Very nice but overpriced.
For skewers, my picks are:
Must have : Neck skin (ran out in 30 minutes), meat ball, Umi thigh, oyster, thyroid ( also ran out in 30 minutes) and wing tip(it is like skin)
Overall highly recommended. Enjoy!
Honestly just overhyped and overpriced. Don’t waste your money or time.
Loved the vibe and food here. Surprisingly lots of good options for vegetarians. Tempura corn and KFC (Korean fried cauliflower) in particular were amazing – a must order. Sweet potato gyoza was also very interesting. Great selection of wine, cocktails, sake and beers too.
Though it’s challenging to get a booking and on the expensive side, it’s well worth it. Will definitely be back!
