This used to be my local restaurant when I was living on Hollywood Road, on this recent visit for dim sum I can say that nothing much has changed. Typical Cantonese restaurant for local people.

DO NOT go to this restaurant!
I went there for lunch a month and a half ago (March 31, 2023). The floor was oily, food wasn’t hot at all. I ordered several dim sum, one of them is a pork short ribs and rice. At the middle of my lunch, I found a curly hair in my rice. It was really disgusting.
I do have a picture as reference however I don’t see an option for me to post it here.
The hygiene of this restaurant is really bad. Staff wasn’t nice either.
If you like traditional dim sum, there are a lot more options in the area.

Terrible hotpot buffet experience in Hong Kong
The manager assumed the staff took the wrong order and explained it was the reason why the food was late… but we never asked/ complained
Food was just fair, honestly we don’t think we will come back again for lunch/ dinner- too much pressure as a consumer
上環中式酒樓，樓面面積大新淨，食品種類繁多，大眾化價錢。好。疫情後復常顧客多，座位幾乎常滿。

Ka Ho is an old-school, authentic and super local Cantonese seafood restaurant. I was almost discouraged by the relatively low rating, but looking inside the restaurant at all the locals enjoying their meals here it’s clear that they are doing something right, but these are probably not the kind of folks that are leaving reviews on google.
Staff don’t speak English, so could be a bit difficult if you don’t speak some Mandarin or Cantonese, but I’m sure it’s possible to get by and they are friendly and want to help. Seafood is really fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. We had garlic razor clams and abalone, broccoli topped with shrimp, a whole streamed grouper fish and a pot of jasmine tea for HKD$475, quite a good value. You can pick your seafood live and they’ll cook it up.
Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys delicious and fresh Cantonese seafood at a reasonable price.
