Loved this place with a secret entrance. Nice food and great drinks!
Best ever experience!
Decent food and good service. The fried and grilled was great. Felt it was largely over seasoned. Ordered the uni and couldn’t taste it- it was overpowered by the nori and panko.
The food is lovely and thoughtfully prepared – we enjoyed the flower crab, the oysters, the seasonal sanma… the sake flight was brilliant as well. This was a very very expensive meal though. We came here to celebrate our 7 year anniversary so it was a bit of a bummer that dessert was not included in the tasting menu (the staff tried to upsell the dessert and the additional beef course multiple times). The table next to us was celebrating a birthday, they got free food / shots, so it hurt that we weren’t offered anything.

Food was ok but this was my problem;
1. Overpriced
2. Portions too small and not real value for what you pay
3. Were said by staff to be big enough for sharing. Not true. See point 2. It was at best enough to feed one person
4. Very limited menu
So whilst food was ok, the experience wasn’t. Staff were nice but at that price, I would expect good service. Reckon your buck could be easier spent for more at other good places. We ended up spending more then we would have (for just as good food) and still went home not feeling content.

Food is excellent – sashimi was amazing, and sukiyaki is with a twist, which was such a pleasant surprise. Portions are small and on the pricey side (and entrance is quite difficult to find) but loved every dish!
We had the 8 course tasting menu which was very nice. The courses were beautiful though a few of them with fried garlic were simply overpowered by the garlic. Overall it was excellent though we didn’t like the seating arrangements (high stools with no back support). The sake selection was very good too.
A nice place to unwind, chat and chill out, with good selection of sake, whiskey and tasty and modern japanese food.

We tried the 8-course tasting menu which is 1188 HKD plus 10% service charge. I’m very impressed by those seafood dishes, esp sashimi but was underwhelmed by meat dishes such as fried pigeon. Also found some dishes too salty. It’s not a value for money place to be honest but service is very good. So 4-4.5 stars
An unassuming hidden izakaya that does dinning very well indeed. The chef has his ways with the fish, the texture are firm n full. All the great food is backed by knowledgeable bartender, behind him is a full list of Japanese whiskey. A treat indeed.
The location is so bad, it was confusing for everyone of us. There was no sign to help. The inside was very small with counter seatings facing the wall. It was unpleasant, difficult to talk when you are with more than one person. The environment was nothing close to the price they charge. Fish/seafood dishes was good but other cooked dishes were just so so, no wow effect, ordinary standard that is not uncommon in other restaurants with a more friendly price. An aperol spritz was charged at HK$250 because they put expensive champagne without letting the customer know. HK$1300 per person the tasting menu didn’t even come with dessert. And it was not communicated with us. The service was so so. One staff was talking the whole time with one table making the small space even uncomfortably noisier. They tried to be high end, fine dining but they are not there yet. You can probably take some nice photos but not sure if it’s good value for money. Won’t recommend it.
Hidden and confidential, once you find the door and enter Ronin restaurant, you start a unique culinary experience. Expensive but very refined.

Uninspired food. Another hipster joint
Way over valued for the food and service, and uncomfortable seating.
Firstly, there was a fish bone in the sashimi, when I raised this to the waitress and she argued this was only a soft bone and would check with chef, and then never came back. Later when I asked and she said rudely she already said sorry , and very unwillingly delete that item from the bill and couldn’t see any sincerity to improve or apologise.
Secondly when we see the bill, there was an item for free welcome bite. We asked what was that and found out we didn’t even got offered that when we sit down. And the whole conversations the waiter and waitress were arguing it was free, but the point was I never got it and never felt welcomed.
This was my first time to the restaurant, and also last time. The food, service and seating doesn’t feel like a restaurant that should be in list of “Asia’s top 50 restaurant “ at all .
We celebrated our anniversary at Ronin and the food and service was amazing. The flower crab uni was one of our favorites, as well as the sukiyaki beef. The service was also phenomenal – we were offered a digestif sake shot after our meal, and was also given a celebratory candle in our dessert. The ambience was intimate so it was a fantastic place to have our date night.

一上枱個樣已經非常之吸引加埋呢個蛋黃攪拌,牛肉分配油脂好豐富加埋呢個壽喜燒醬汁我隔籬嗰個話停唔到口。

用啤酒面糊炸嘅魚,楓糖蛋黃醬
炸既魚做得好出色,口感亦都好酥脆
雖然係揸咗囉但係魚肉仍然保持好濕潤

因為唔係個個都鍾意食甜,我都係食咗一啖因為最近戒緊糖🤣我隔籬嗰個話有機會佢可以食晒整個!咁我都覺得好好食嘅😂

Probably our favourite restaurant in Hong Kong. Delicious food, an incredible selection of Japanese whiskey, and friendly and expert staff. Make sure you have the beer-battered fish!
What a great dining experience in Hong Kong! I’m glad I was able to find this gem before my trip to Hong Kong and it was definitely worth every penny. I got there early and was able to sit at the bar and during my time there, it was satisfying to watch the bartender cut ice because I’ve never seen ice blocks being cut so intricately and with focus.
I forgot the names of the food I ordered but the pictures I’ve attached speaks for itself since it’s been a month or two since I was in Hong Kong. The best dish was the snow crab, hands down .

位置比較隱蔽,地方亦不大。Fusion food, 我們試了8 道菜的tasting menu,價格亦不貴,千多元,食物不錯,但份量不足。而且十分奇怪 套餐內是不包括甜點,要另外訂,但衹有一款給客戶。
酒類/食品都算比較多,美中不足的是座椅不舒服,使人不知道這間是bar,或餐廳。
The cold dishes are great, fresh seafood, the hot dishes are not as outstanding. This is the first time I had omakase (I will leave it up to you), addition 150 HKD for the eel with rice, which was alright, they change their menu daily so the serve the best and freshest food on that day.
Overall it was good, few of the dishes are absolutely incredible, but a few others are just average, like the eel with rice. This is a high end place for sure, but they only have bar top table which I don’t normally prefer, but somehow for Japanese restaurants will make it seems okay.
Great service too.

Modern looking izakaya that offers a great selection of whiskey and sake. We were feeling lazy and did the tasting menu + flight with 6 drinks (champagne, 3 sakes, red wine, whiskey). The tasting menu comes with 8 dishes, 4 cold and 4 hot. For the cold seafood dishes, fresh ingredients are expected. And you also taste the very subtle hues of added flavors such as floral, fruity etc. besides your everyday salt/sugar/vinegar… which added highlights. The 4 hot dishes didn’t surprise as much, but they are also good. The menu changes everyday, which is a great way to lure customers back. For drinks, stick to their whiskey and sake. The wines aren’t their strength and detracted from the experience. Overall, it’s a great dining experience, and too comfortable of an ambience that makes 4 hours just go by without you realizing it.

ive come here four or five times and each time has been absolutely amazing. hands down one of the best and one of my favourite restaurants in hk! a must get is the classic eel rice, which is always so delicious. the produce is fresh, the cocktails are also great, and the intimate vibe inside is lovely! i adore ronin!

One of my favorite restaurants
Went for a birthday dinner with a friend and had such a great time.
The service staff were friendly and knowledgeable explaining to us in detail about the dishes on the menu. Knowing about my dietary restrictions, they avoided recommending any crustaceans and the following popular choices.
Overall a great experience and will recommend for people to come by at least once.
Beverage manager, Harley was also great with assisting me with another reservation for another one of their restaurants.
Oh, the toilet is pretty cool too with the endless mirrors. Felt like I was in a matrix too 😂

This has been my favorite restaurant in HK! Place looks great, even the restroom. But the icing is the flower crab with uni and the raw kagoshima wagyu beef

Fish Collar Kagoshima Beef Flower Crab with Uni
While it initially seems pricy, you realise quickly you’re getting some good value especially by the quality of preparation and ingredients. Highballs here keep you moving in the comfy space, and you shouldn’t sleep on their tempura and grilled items. The burger is a surprise must-have that will leave you giggling. Overall definitely a place to visit.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner with friends. We arrived ten minutes late for our reservation and the table was still not ready so we had to wait outside for a further five to ten minutes.
The food was really excellent, fresh quality. But the portion sizes were SOOO small, especially given the price. Service was actually good, everyone was very nice and attentive, but the food came out really really slow. We left our dinner having paid around $800 or so per person and we were still really hungry. (Photos attached don’t include everything ordered)
Drinks selection was good, sake and the cocktails were yummy.
TLDR: Would not recommend this place or come again. Food was tiny portions, expensive, and slow to come out. Two stars for good quality food and nice service though.
