Bouillon Bistro Parisien

Had a lovely birthday celebration at this cozy bistro. Signature dishes were great and as a foie gras lover, I was happy to enjoy both pan seared and pate. Wine list features a good range of options & prices. Service can get a bit hectic even on weekday nights but we enjoyed our dinner very much

Everything’s not right.
Bread is stale, crumply, dried.
A French restaurant cannot serve good bread better be closed.
Late afternoon, not busy, ordered Beef Tartare and a side of french fries, beef was pre chopped and stored in bar fridge, when ordered barmaid just mixed it with pre fabricated sauce which has absolutely no flavor and over powered by basil oil. Never had any steak tartare which is so strong in basil flavor. Butter was nearly frozen and smell of fridge odor. The tartare didn’t come with anything, not even a piece of pathetic lettuce. French fries arrive hot but rock hard, been in the freezer for too long or not fried properly. Service was OK with an attentive waitress and barmaid which wanted to close the shop early that she can go on time. Highly not recommended.

Cosy atmosphere and lovely food

Food was good bistro-level quality but certainly not priced as a neighborhood bistro, especially considering the location and awkward and crowded sitting plan. The business model is probably to generate buzz to attract one-off customers rather than building a business with repeated customers.

Apart from mis-priced food, the main reasons for us to give it two stars and unlikely to head back in the future are

(1) the service was off – waitress could not explain the menu and presented our mains even before we finished our shared appetizers which is absolutely a no-no; and

(2) even though we made booking online a few weeks in advance we were sat at a small table right out of the toilet – so close that each time other customers go to the toilet they apologize to me first. Needless to say, the fluorescent light and smell from the toilet each time the sliding door opens were not pleasant for our dining experience (the urinal is out of service, btw).

Our search for nice neighborhood bistros continues.

We had foie gras, girolles, duck confit, john dory, creme caramel. Excellent.

We love it here! Two visits so far and we will definitely be back. Incredible tasty, down to earth food and wonderfully friendly staff!

Friendly and accommodative. Delicious food and comfortable bistro vibe. Small and cozy – don’t expect oodles of elbow room!

One of my favourite French restaurants in town. They have specials each week plus great a la carte choices. The price is good, good atmosphere and location. The owner guy could have a bit of a smile but that’s his problem not mine. Totally recommend this restaurant. Great flavours.

Beef Tartare Escargot à La Bourguignonne

This is a small French restaurant located in an obscure premises in Sheung Wan. We went there on a Monday night and it was full. The pictures of the food ordered show. They were all good and tasty. I have no criticism on the food except that the presentation could be a bit more refined. The service was not bad although it appeared understaffed but otherwise that was good. I would mention that the restaurant did not serve tap water and only bottled water was served.

Hokkaido Scallops with Truffle Terrine De Foie Gras Rice Pudding

Had a lunch today. Starters were okay, but was quite shock how they prepare the main dishes. I ordered beef tartare which has been pre-made in plastic box. The colour was already so dull, tasted not fresh. My friend ordered beef steak in medium rare, with very poor quality. Couldn’t even identify which part of the meat is it. Won’t go back ever. Maybe dinner service would be better when the chef-owner is in the kitchen. All the staffs (including the chef at the bar) was busy looking at their phones.

Very disappointed lunch.
Chewy n very hard bread, pre mixed beef tartare, very inconsistent steak and un-hygienic chefs are ruin my all the lunch today.
Not recommended and wont come back.

Nice ambience. Small and cozy. Yummy food (this is what we ordered: Pate en Croute, Rossini de Boeuf -Beef Tenderloin, Riz Au Lait).

Super efficient. They serve two rounds of seating per night (6-8PM, and 8PM onwards). We went at 6, and they pretty much served the food immediately after we order it.

Pure French bistro with simple and high quality imported products. Amazing wine selection at affordable price. Simple and so good.
Don’t forget to book if you want to go, it’s always full!

subpar service, wasn’t made to feel welcome at all. asked for tap water and was met with attitude from the waiter. also charged us for multiple water refills without asking us first. might I add, they charge for filtered (i.e. tap) water, not bottled, under the guise that it’s more “eco-friendly”… yikes! sounds scammy to me. food was good but the overall experience sucked. would not recommend!

Great dinner, I had duck leg and husband had beef cheeck. Duck inside was soft and surface was crispy, very delicious. Beef was well cooked and delicious too. Kind service people. We had 3 starter, 2 main dishes, one desert and a bottle of wine, paid 2088 hkd.

Perfect French bistro. Super fresh, honest abd warming food with a touch of class. Lovely wine list with some natural beauties, lovely bar to sit at too. Go here!!

It was a really nice experience dining in a cozy french restaurant. The foie gras and chicken breast are the must-try. The former is smooth and can really taste the goose oil bursting in your mouth. The chicken breast is honestly the tenderest breast I have ever tasted. Please please please follow the suggestion to have wine and dessert. You just wont be disappointed
