Please come here and avoid the other bakeries around the corner. I tried all 3 bakeries on this half block and the other 2 hav nicer store fronts and are busier, but they kinda sucked. This one had the best Chinese bakery food by far. The egg custard tarts were seriously solid even though they didn’t look perfect. (I’ll admit that the custard to tart ratio was a bit off for me though). The roll cakes are almost perfect. The cake itself is amazing, but the cream fillings are extremely tasty. She adds a bit of extra salt to make the cream filling shine and it’s great.

We originally walked into Paper and Stone or whatever it’s called and could immediately tell it was all looks and no substance. We popped into V8, a smaller and less visible bakery nearby and HOLY HELL it was amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the BBQ buns. Amazing little bakery and a fantastic place to grab some bites while you’re walking around Hong Kong.
Simple local bakery, no frills. Buns are stuffed into one bag two at a time, despite not fitting comfortably. Egg tarts are displayed still in their metal moulds until sale, at which point they’re knocked out violently, demonstrating that they’re very flaky with no structural integrity. Will not be intact when you get it. Very tasty. 8hkd each.
