Bargain coffee and pastry breakfast pricing which for HKG is amazing. But they have day old pre sliced bread only available in the morning and no fresh loaves which defeats the point of a bakery. Sausage rolls and chicken pie r OK as way too much buttery puff pastry and not enough meat filling (ratio is off). I come back as it’s hard to buy sausage rolls in HKG but it could be improved.

Great Bread- particularly the sourdough. Highly recommended the breakfast special–the egg roll and coffee only costs 30 HK for a very generous serving and Australian quality coffee.

最後,實際上很難選擇你真正想買的東西——一切看起來都那麼好。

Bread looks nice but lacks quality. I purchase sourdough and other types of bread multiple times, and found almost all of their products easily burnt in my toaster – never happens to my other bread. Will never buy again.

Paper Stone Bakery is a franchise of western style bakery shops found around Hong Kong including this bakery at the corner of Morrison Street and Des Voeux Road Central in Sheung Wan. Opening hours are 7.30am to 8.30pm (Mon – Sat) and 9am to 7pm (Sundays).
Here you will find a fairly typical range of western style breads and other bakery products. There is an open glassed in bakery so you can watch them preparing and making bread products throughout the day. Breads are individually wrapped in plastic, a bit wasteful but necessary at the moment because of the pandemic.
I visited this Paper Stone Bakery recently and had a chocolate covered danish. It was very hard and chewy, difficult to bite through. After microwaving for 15 seconds, it softened and I was able to eat more leisurely. Otherwise, it tasted just fine.
They also have coffee drinks available at this Paper Stone Bakery. The espresso is fine, not up there with what is served at the serious coffee shops on nearby Jervois Street. However, like the danish, it tasted fine, more than acceptable for a bakery.
Note: This bakery offers delivery for those who prefer to not get out during the pandemic. They can send orders directly to you through deliveroo if you are staying in the area.

The bakery doesn’t captivate me at Paper Stone Bakery but then I was captivated by the angelic white dirty bun that has been trending since April.
The dirty bun or more commonly known as messy bun is a dusted with chocolate powder and there are layers and layers of chocolate ganache which ooze out when you eat hence the name dirty bun as it is very messy to eat.
The white dirty bun is a white chocolate version of the chocolate version.
I thought it was going to be dead sweet because of the white chocolate but it was light filled with sweet cream in the middle which tasted like condensed milk.
It was actually quite nice as the bun was soft and fluffy and the filling was more like cream instead of thick white chocolate paste.
Unfortunately, the quality varies at different branches as the one at Popcorn tasted nasty.

Underwhelming bakery – sadly the bread was stale. Not sure why they wouldn’t bake fresh bread on a Sunday.. Very limited savoury bread options also.
All bread is also individually packaged in single use plastic – not sure that’s necessary, especially as some of the breads are tiny! Suggest changing to a more sustainable option, if possible.

Bread is great, but the service is absolutely rubbish and very confusing, ended up with 3 seperate bills then was charged for an item that I believed was free and when I called later to check was told that I needed to return the store for resolution – all for a $10 item

Reasonable selection of sandwiches, breads and pastries that are delicious but a little on the expensive side. The staff are without exception rude, surly, unfriendly and treat customers with contempt. They suck even by HK’s low standards of costumer service.
