Wonderful place to grab some amazing food. Just slightly off the beaten path from Man mo Temple. Curry fried rice with chicken and curry fried rice with pork is what we had. Reasonably priced and quite delectable. Would love to have this place in Tennessee nearby! Will definitely return if I find myself in Hong Kong again.

Nice little cha chaan teng with outdoor seating. It’s on a mostly quiet street and offers the typical HK style food. Nice place to have your morning breakfast if outdoors is what you like. Prices are accordingly average.

A good place to go on a sunny winter day. Here you can experience the fast food enjoyed by many HKers, fried rice. All dishes are made to other. Only recommended to people who don’t mind outdoor seating.
We got the curry fried rice and it was delicious. Definitely worth the wait during the lunch rush. You can opt to get your food to-go and eat it at the park right behind the restaurant. Note- rice dishes are only available for lunch. We made the mistake of trying to get it for breakfast and had to come back. Still worth the double trips though.

Yuk Kin Fast Food is a long standing local restaurant on Tai Ping Shan Street which sells typical local cha chaan teng style rice and fried rice.
Trying it for the first time, I got myself an Assorted Steak Rice in Onion Sauce. I was slightly disappointed as there was only pork chop… Other steaks were replaced with chicken wings for poultry, sausages for beef…
Nevertheless, the whole dish was really good. The pork chop was quite tender. The two chicken wings and the sausage were nicely pan fried. The onion sauce was awesome! It topped up the flavor of the meat and rice without making me thirsty. There was also a yummy sunny side up hidden underneath the pork chop.
Would love to try their fried rice next time!

聽聞老闆最近參加茶王大賽，感覺杯奶茶真的很正。
最出名是黑椒炒飯，(例如，牛扒黑椒炒，豬扒黑椒炒)

On this stretch of Tai Ping Shan Road, it is mostly Western restaurants so Yuk Kin and this other Chinese eatery really stand out.
I tried this one because it was empty and I plan to try the other one later.
Prices are reasonable but considerably affordable in the area.
Anyway, the cheapest noodles were around 2X with egg and luncheon ham but as they had chicken on the menu I had chicken with instant noodles.
The chicken looked a bit dry but it was actually tasty and springy while the broth was a clear one.
Although the noodles are seemingly the Nissin brand, they were a bit sticky so I suspect it is the Nissin brand from China.
Tried the chicken curry fried rice! Delicious!

同事專程帶路試“黑椒雞扒飯”，特色在不是用黑椒汁，而直接用黑椒炒，味道更辣更有香味，值得一試。
An old good stall offering very local fried dishes, and tasty localize breakfast.
You won’t expect proper seating here, but you can surely feel and human warmth and breathe som good fresh air with long missed local food. Compared with other aircon-included restaurant, what they attracts me surely are the very traditionally made breakfast and fried rice. They don’t have too much choices comparatively, but what they over surely will fit all hongkonh grown-up mates. I’m very impressed with their milk tea and satay beef noodles with sunny side egg. If you come for the lunch, I would recommend you try their curry fried rice – the “wok air” is something you barely find along Tai Ping Shan Street.
It’s just one street upper the hollywood road, and many decent coffee shops nearby, good to spend a lazy afternoon here for food exploring and resting

Found this by chance since I live relatively close by and saw the long queues of people lining up. Love the fried rice dishes and the curry and became a regular customer. The owner is very friendly and helpful. While it’s a cash only business they can also accommodate payments through PayMe. One of my local favourites!
