Lunch omakase starts from $880 + 10% service fee, which you may get much better omakase elsewhere.
Though staff served well, who actively refilled your tea cup, there’s almost no interaction with the chef. Usually for omakase, you’d expect the chef explaining how the sushi and dish is prepared, showcasing their skills, and chatting with the customers. However, the chef basically told you the fish or dish name, and left to prepare his food. The sushi and dish were not impressive or outstanding, in favor nor presentation. The sake and alcohol list was also over priced.
Note that this restaurant is located at The Peninsula Arcade, but not a restaurant ran or managed by the hotel.

Hot dishes are very good, especially abalone.

半島酒店地庫新開釧Kushiro日本料理,並由日籍大廚富山幸人主理,晚市Omakase食足24道菜,用料非常高級,除了當季日本空運新鮮食材還有法國藍龍蝦、金鱘魚子、安康魚肝、東星班、三重縣鮑魚等。全程用足3小時,極致享受。
一位難求,坐吧頭有排訂,坐枱快的,也不錯,格價不便宜,但食過無投訴,水準甚佳,比樓上半島個人認為更出色,有清酒師,介紹清酒,有驚喜!
Very good high end sushi. Service very good.
I like it – first visit to try the lunch and ordered the HANA lunch set. Must say I was more impressed by the sushi (10pcs… all of them are great, especially the last two pieces) than the appetizers (good but not yet great) and the entree (again can’t say it’s bad but it made me once worried that I might be disappointed with my first visit and won’t come back).
I picked tofu pannacotta as desert because I’m not a persimmon-person (my friend said it’s good too) and I like it a lot! Though I’m not a big fans for the signature sesame-favor chocolate (1pc per person, included in the set) as it’s too sweet to me.
Nonetheless, will come back again for lunch or dinner again.

It’s very orientated to original taste of the ingredients not much add on taste inc wasabi is at low level
Uber fine dining experience
The chefs know exactly what they buying chopping cooking and how we want to eat
It’s a smallish restaurant pretty cosy or close to each other with attentive service
It fits well with the Peninsula Hotel image and character
Sadly there is a dear price to compensate what they offer. Whether it’s great value of money it’s depend how much you love Japanese food.
I managed to get a lunch time booking at Kushiro. It’s tough to get into this restaurant, and with good reason. We had a great omakase in a very comfortable environment. The service was prompt and attentive throughout, with tea being constantly refilled and our plates frequently changed. The food itself was great. The usual omakase dishes were there, with the akami and toro being full of flavour. The standouts were a couple of dishes with clear french influence, being the steamed egg with the lobster and a tofu dessert that was designed like a Panna Cotta.

➺ 北寄貝-厚厚肉感,炙燒過後更提升甜味

Very decent Japanese omakase ryori. The restaurant is a bit small so it feels kind of crowded and noisy. Food is nice but it will HUD have been even better if the staff could do some more introduction and let us know more about what is so special about the food. Nice dining experience anyways.

Phenomenal experience! Absolutely loved the kawa omakase lunch menu. The sushi chef Frank knew his stuff and was happy to talk to us about the menu, the ingredients and wanted to hear our thoughts on the dishes. Definitely get their kawa menu (~1700 before service fee) as it includes their signature abalone (so much umami) with abalone liver sauce, and uni bowl. As a huge uni lover I was wowed to see one uni dish, two uni sushis and one uni handrail, super satisfying experience!
