Set lunch here was very cheap ($55 all inclusive with soup & drink) with decent quality. Tried the Chiuchow signatures stewed food, which was ok but average. Dinner was much more expensive but I have never tried.

Authentic Chiu Chow cuisine. Decoration and environment better than their old shop in Lock Road, but taste not as good as before, also price is rather high now.

今人失望的潮洲菜,价钱配不上食物的质素。
叫咗煎蠔餅,豉油王炒魷魚,滷水鵝腸,蠔仔粥,清心丸綠豆爽,白果姜薯糖水同埋鼠榖粿。
蠔仔好大隻,亦都冇腥味,唔錯!
滷水鵝腸唔知點解有少少麻辣味嘅芽菜墊底,我覺得唔係好夾。

當既約朋友食飯,原來朋友常光顧這餐廳的舊店,老闆都認得他。
朋友說新店價格調高了,但我們吃飽後都覺得食物對應到價錢,朋友說食物質素比舊店更好!
我們第一碟點了糯米腸,好食,會不自覺的在食,香軟糯,有腸香但剛好不過火,會成為我每次必點!
鵝肝鵝肉蛋,好食,合格或以上。
蠔洛,鴨蛋香,朋友說這做法正宗,幾分似台灣蚵仔煎但更焦香和鴨蛋香,好食!
糕煮薯好好食,但一碟最好4個人以上去食。
那碗好像是福果,福果爽脆,糖水清甜。

So much has been said about this place on many forums; they were such extremes; many haters. I state my case, I love this place; that I refer solely to the food. Are they expensive ? Not cheap for sure. Are they unprofessional in handling bookings at time ? Quite often. Are they not top notch in service ? You can say that again. They focus on cooking excellent food at an above average price with fair service provided. As to bookings, they are handled by senior waiters over the phone, so just imagine ! Today we talk about total customer experience like it is the only standard. I believe variety is the spice in life ? We go to different restaurants for different reasons and that’s what make eating out such fun. In HK we are blessed to have so so many choices of restaurants, make up your own list of favourite restaurants by understanding each unique selling point; the reason you go there. As to 華苑潮州閣,go there enough times, understand your reason is for the authentic cooking, maybe even become their regulars…..your return is well worth it
Very good Chiu Chow dishes.
This Chaozhau restaurant serves special dishes if you dare to eat them. They have blood clams 血蛤, crabs 膏蟹, mini lobster 龍蝦仔 all raw and brined in salt, garlic, ginger, onion, shaoxing wine. But all this need to be order in advance when you book for a table.
The other cooked food we ordered were oyster with egg 煎蠔餅, stir fry noodles (兩面黃) deep fry pork intestine 炸豬大腸, a chicken soup etc. All these goes well with congee instead of rice.
We also managed to byob with no corkage.
The service is excellent and quick and friendly. Place is very clean (can tell by how they manage the toilet).
Highly recommended.
十分美味的傳統潮州菜, 特色菜必須預訂.
Excellent Old school Chiuchow.
A very authentic Chiu Chow restaurant, and it also looked like it has been around for a good number of years.
The classic ?方魚肉碎蠔仔粥Congee with minced pork, dried flounder and oysters was delicious ? with plenty of fresh plump oysters ? though the minced pork used was on the fatty side.
Another delicious yet very traditional dish we had was their ?芋泥香酥鴨 Crispy duck with toro purée! Loved the flaky crispy layer, and the smooth taro paste sandwiched within along with the gamey flavour of the duck! Very well-executed!??
And of course, we had to other a side of 滷水鵝片Spiced goose Chiu chow style! We ordered only a half portion as we already had way too much food. Great flavour and quality though they sliced it from the wrong angle, which made the meat a tad tougher than it otherwise would be?
Overall, although food was great, personally, I am not too keen to revisit considering the service (which was no service at all), how battered and worn the interior of the restaurant was (eg the seats, the tablecloth etc) and the poor public health awareness (esp during Covid times). Food was also quite pricey given the environment of the restaurant.

好用心嘅潮州菜,雖然滷鵝蠔餅好出色,但小菜類更驚喜。新鮮茨實百合煲、黃皮豬手、春菜牛丸等都唔係一般舖頭食到嘅菜式。會再去。

正宗潮州菜,沒有華麗裝修,純以食物質素取勝。鹵味、普寧豆腐、凍馬友、燻鴨都有水準。侍應推介墨魚丸配番茄湯底有警喜。反而專程趁當造點的薄殼不夠肥美,味道偏淡。

韮菜粿好大粒、足料、有水準,皮薄,配埋辣椒醬更可口;
荔芋鴨香脆,但帶點酸味,同平時的味道有點分別;
糯米釀大腸就好一般,外面冇煎過、冇香脆感,味道淡;
潮州麵不錯,帶少少咸,有肉絲、蠔仔、菜、蕃茄,是濕濕地,炆煮的;
牛丸好彈、有肉汁,但一個鍋只得兩粒牛丸、四粒魚蛋,成鍋都是菜底,呢個價錢唔合理;
單點一碗牛丸河已有四粒牛丸,不知點計出嚟;
招牌㰖菜肉碎炒飯,味道正常、熱辣辣,飯炒到粒粒分明,不錯的;
豬腳凍應是雪凍再切開一件件,啫喱狀的,但這碟好似雪咗好耐,以為食緊豬肉乾,又乾又硬,可以唔洗試。
優質食物和服務。香港少有的正宗潮州菜。老板Eve 親力親為,用心經營。

食物很鹹,比其它潮州店鋪貴2倍,侍應不會主動沖茶,例牌蝦蟹棗一碟只有8粒,要切開才能供6個人用,應該視乎人數加份量,可加費用補數,但就不會變通,而出來的食物又柴又等了很久問完又問才見上菜,所以再沒興趣評論下去
