Lunch menu (Lao Beifang) hkd198 per person, 3 appetizers, 2 main courses and rice / noodle plus dessert. Portion is small but with this combination. It is very good.

Fantastic venue with an incredible view! I’ve visited this place a few times now for lunch, dinner and brunch. They consistently deliver excellent service and quality food. The Sunday champagne bunch (buffet) is well worth trying especially if you want an authentic Chinese experience. They have a show which adds to the whole experience. Child friendly. Chinese style, old-wood decor.
This restaurant has everything- the view (much better than most due to the proximity of the harbour and right height etc), the chinese food, the excellent service from the waiters (they were not intrusive but were always there very quickly if you needed them) etc. I would reserve this restaurant early as it does get booked up, and try to get a window seat! The decor is brilliant- it feels like old Hong Kong. The restaurant is pretty expensive so be prepared to spend a lot, but if you know that already it won’t spoil your visit. All in all I loved it!! I would like to try their brunch next time.
Dim Sam are really different and fine. The atmosphere is really special. I recommend their sunday brunch with free flow Champagne.

A good place to visit in HK. Firstly, the views, stunning. The best actually. The restaurant itself is very atmospheric. The food was good but not as elevated I thought it might have been. The off the bone ribs were unbelievable. The crab was overcooked and very dry. The service was efficient but not friendly and the inability of the team to recommend dishes in what is a large menu left us fending for ourselves when we wanted to discover the best.

Came here for for the 13-course dinner. I have to say the atmosphere and the views were absolutely stunning. If you’re bringing guests/ a date, it’s hard to impress on first impressions. However, the seats were very uncomfortable. The chairs were a bit high, but what bothered me most was the wooden chair was too hard and rigid – I think this could be easily solved with some cushions.
The 13 course was a generous portion, but the dishes itself was dishes you could get similarly done in many other Chinese restaurants. It was not elevated enough. I also thought there were way too many fried food dishes. When it came to the 8th and 9th dishes – fried prawns with salted egg yolk/ crispy soft shelled crab with Sichuan chilli – it was simply too much. Got a bit too heavy for us. I thought the hot dishes were too similar to be served together.
Dessert was so-so.
I would probably try/ recommend to try the a-la-carte. I would still come back and recommend the experience with stunning views.

Love this place. Great views and atmosphere. Be careful if you are not used to chilli, as they use proper chilli!

If you want to have a nice view you might consider going there although there a plenty of other places (roof top terraces).
The food is pretty average, not authentic and portions are small – the prices are very high though. No wonder since the only visitors seems to be tourists.
My recommendation, go to a nice local restaurant and enjoy the food. After that enjoy the HK skyline from a nice rooftop with a nice cocktail.

This is a very good Chinese restaurant. The Chinese cuisine is especially delicious. The different cuisines are cooked in a variety of styles. The different cuisines in China are cooked at the top level.

Very good place
The only plus point to brag about was the stunning views otherwise the place was an embarrassment to the catering industry. The food was mediocre at best, the service atrocious.. you could say service without a smile or any kind of acknowledgement what so ever. The question is Will I return ? Answer No.

Waste of Money
I have been going to Hutong since it opened 12 + years ago and its gradually gone downhill – today’s dining experience was the worst and we will never return.
We went to the brunch (or should i say set menu) – the food was rubbish (we ate probably 10% of the food), when we complained the staff were uninterested – the only thing it has going for it is the view.
Given the recession HK is about to have, i doubt this place will be around in 6 months
