Just really lucky to have a seat in weekend afternoon these days~ Alive Eatery by Alive food is really famous for their homemade sourdough. We tried the one with avocado & tomato salsa on top. The thick-cut sourdough is really perfectly toasted. The toppings are also a perfect match with the sourdough (tho we tasted a bit parsley haha) Bread Pudding is also nomnom, with caramelized outside and spongy bread inside. There are also lemon sorbet and nuts aside which enhance the whole pudding(๑>◡◡<๑)
?????? – Just really dying for Flat White and so we asked something out of the menu haha. Coffee is extremely nice to have with the food٩(◕‿◕。)۶

日日都有新cafe,已經無咁好心力排個幾兩個鐘,真係見到有好想試嘅食物先會出動。今次呢呢間就係之前喺合舍見過嘅酸種麵包品牌Alive Food,睇過西班牙廚師對鑽研發酵食品嘅報道後一直想試。Cafe同樣選址深水埗,座落汝州街,同附近嘅舖頭格格不入,獨自散發悠閒嘅氣息。店面唔大,除左門口嘅窗口位外,只有三數張枱同bar枱位,我地喺週末16:00去,成功避開人潮直入,鍾意佢嘅酸種麵包仲可以原個買走。
? 水波蛋牛油果醬配石榴粒酸種麵包多士 Poached Egg, Guacamole, Sumac and Pomegranate Open Toast ($73)
酸種麵包厚切,包身鬆軟得黎好煙韌,食到微酸,邊位就硬脆,相當唔錯。牛油果醬有調過位,份量足夠沾滿成塊麵包,加埋水波蛋簡單又好食,石榴籽酸酸甜甜,豐富口感得黎又令賣相更美觀。
?焦糖法國牛油酸種麵包布甸Caramelized Soft Bread Pudding ($58)
相信唔少人為左佢而黎,外層嘅焦糖燒到焦脆,麵包長時間浸喺蛋漿入面,口感濕潤綿密,配清新嘅檸檬雪葩,冷熱交融,雪葩旁仲有啲類似蘋果金寶嘅脆脆,食得出成個配搭好用心。

好多奶泡,偏nutty風味,頗香醇濃郁。
☕️Iced Matcha Latte ($50)
抹茶粉落得唔少,微苦回甘唔明顯,粉感偏重,有啲似Dawn嗰杯。
呢間cafe嘅CP值好高,食物幾有水準,可以encore。

Could love to see more vegan options dishes.
I would give a 4-star rating for the food. The ricotta cheese berry sourdough was pretty good. The cheese was creamy and not heavy and it mixed well with the honey. The bread was crisp and nice. One downside was that the knife was not sharp enough and it was quite hard to cut it into bites.
The caramalised soft bread pudding was refreshing and appetising. The inside of the pudding had an interesting texture and tasted quite like an egg pudding that was wrapped inside the bread. I m not a big fan of lemon but the bread pudding did blend well with the sorbet. However, it would still be nice if another flavor of sorbet is available for ppl to choose from~
The coffee was average tho. It had a spice flavor at the beginning but the taste followed was pretty flat and regular but a strong espresso flavor.
The cafe was cozy and the music was chill.
It was a nice place to hang around~
Found this hidden Gem in Sham Shui Po. It is a small little cozy spot inside if Form Society. Alive Food specialize in artisan fermented food such as Sourdough, Kombucha and some other vegan spreads. I tried their Spanish peach with home made vegan cream cheese toast , it was absolutely divine. Also bought their Organic Rye Sourdough and Kombucha home, absolutely love their concept and definitely one of the BEST sourdough I have tried in Hong Kong!
the environment is nice with not many people on a cosy weekday afternoon. the food was inexpensive, but quite salty and the staff was rude! quite disappointing when comparing to nearby cafes.
Best homemade sourdough and kombucha in Hong Kong!! The store owners are soo nice and sweet! Go check out their store in SSP area! Highly recommended!
Good coffee
Alive is underrated in the IG world but it should get more attentions from the public.
Have been eating in this small cafe since it opens. The sourdough is great, always love it Kombucha (pineapple flavour tastes real good!!!). Now it started their own shop the food is even better with more varieties, staffs are really nice and they explained to a 5-years old kid about what they are making. Very good dining experience.
Had their rye sourdough, it’s hearty and yummy. Just wonderful and healthy
Limited choices of food currently. The avocado toast and guacamole was so yummy! The ambience was nice too.

I always crave for good sourdough in different cafes and restaurants in town. I paid a visit with my friend to this newly opened cafe today. Indeed the food here is quite good (I tried the one with avocado and tomato salsa). However, the attitude of one of the staff is rude…
When I and my friend finished our sourdough, we planned to order one bread pudding for dessert (no one told us in advance the meal time is limited to 1 hour). We approached a waitress that she was very nice trying to explain the limit of meal time and saying we can still go ordering given there is no people queuing outside.
When we tried to go to the cashier, the cashier man immediately stopped us saying “you cannot order anymore as 1 hour is nearly over”. We actually showed understanding to it and planned to leave soon. When we got back to the seat, the cashier man spoke to us standing at the cashier rudely saying “If you can finish within 5 minutes then you can order”. Indeed we were quite shocked about this man’s rude attitude and wordings. We also did not know why this cashier man can have this “5-min offer”. Some of the people were curious about what was going on too
We totally understood the time limit although no one told us about that in advance. We appreciate the kindness of female waitress (and she even showed apology that she misled us). However, we were really so shocked about this cashier man’s attitude and wordings. We do want some follow ups and learn how you can prevent similar situation in the future.
Been there for lunch for 2 days in a roll. Will keep going there for the rest of the week. I think that tells you how good it was.
Quite chill environment and nice food! Homemade bread taste so good!

手做酸種麵包十分有心思,環境很舒服
Great shop! I am a huge bread lover and a friend of mine recommended me to try out their sourdough and it surely didn’t disappoint! Their sourdough is crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside with the right amount of sourness. Staff were super friendly and the food quality was superb. Will definitely return again .
I am a regular customer of Alive food and their quality never disappoint! Ordered online and visited their shop in Sham Shui Po and I am genuinely impressed by their product . You can taste the effort they put in there and their sourdough is all I eat now.

這間cafe的甜品一直在很多ig出現,終於找到一個平日下午可以和朋友一起來?裡面座位不多,但裝潢配色都很好看,很有美國lounge bar的感覺,反正就是坐下來未點餐已經忍不住欣賞周圍。
?自家製純素椰子乳酪碗 $75
Cafe Menu很大部分都是純素食品,無論正餐還是甜品都有很多素食選擇,平常我很少點乳酪碗,但這款配搭實在太吸引!!即使是乳酪碗,擺盤都是精心設計,感覺好像不是很大份的它實際上非常飽肚。乳酪本身加入了椰子元素,所以香氣會更濃,直接吃都容易入口不會太酸;上面撒上了枸杞和不同種類的nut增添口感,最開心是有燕麥塊,提升飽腹感,同時有新鮮百香果和藍莓補完清新和鮮甜味道,喜歡light breakfast的朋友可以考慮?
?焦糖法國奶油酸種麵包布甸 $65
其實來這裡唯一目標就是吃這個甜品!首先酸種麵包是這店的招牌,用上自家製酸種麵包製作的麵包布甸上桌一段時間依然能保持熱度,旁邊酸酸甜甜的檸檬雪芭則非常冰冷,所以一起吃會有冰火雙重刺激,布甸外層的焦糖被烤到焦脆,smoky感覺滲透到裡面,但裡面依然濕潤滑溜又充滿蛋香,雪芭下的脆脆可以說是點睛位,這份甜品真的值得無限encore!
?抹茶拿鐵 $45
喜歡抹茶的話這杯是不二之選,抹茶味極度濃郁,甚至乎到苦的程度(本人喜歡綠茶拿鐵?)雖然有奶,但也是不太夠平衡,所以放久了比較難入口,不過這是我個人喜好問題,所以大家可以衡量一下喔~
食物質素不錯,但選擇較少,杯咖啡幾好。

Lovely restaurant. The coffee was good but didn’t arrive at the same time. Tried the vegan options on the menu and food arrived quite far apart. Food was delicious and service friendly. Great retail offering too. Took some kombucha, vegan palmiers and a sourdough bread home – superb!

?Have been wanting to try this bread pudding!
It’s texture is soft and . And torch work to finish it up with a golden crisp but I personally prefer it to be more crispy. The sides were also torched but without the caramelisation so it tastes burnt ? It comes with lemon sorbet which gives it a kick of flavour and lightens up the heavy bread pudding. There’s also some cookie crumbs underneath the sorbet to give it texture. Everything matched very well!
☕️The latte was good value for money. A big cup with a good amount of milk but wish it had a stronger coffee taste.
?House brewed kombucha tastes like beer as it contains traces of alcohol which can be found in fermented food. It has a hint of grapefruit taste but couldn’t taste the rose at all. It was refreshing and unique but might order the good ole matcha latte next time.
Excellent interpretation of a pudding. Crunchy caramelized sugar crust with soft texture of sourdough soaked in milky goodness.
店舖橘子,排隊的人也不少。所以我到現在也只外賣回家品嚐。
酸種包的香氣,聞著聞著也覺得開心。
最喜歡他們的原味酸種包。配搭其他食材就可以做出簡單豐富美味的一餐。常配的有soft cream cheese或者是他們自製的cashew cream cheese(原味),再配上煙三文魚,一流!
Kombucha也值得一試。初入口感覺很怪,但慢慢淺嚐淺嚐著,又覺得味道還不錯。(第一次試,是三個人分享一支,淺嚐淺嚐)
